Princess Hostel Amsterdam

This is a lovely little backpackers hostel in Amsterdam. there is a Tram stop right outside the building and the No. 17 Tram takes you to Amsterdam central station where you are in the heart of the city n about 10 minutes. My wife and I did a last minute trip to Amsterdam and wanted to go to the Anne Frank Museum. Unfortunately when we turned up at the museum we were turned away despite it not looking too busy because they informed us we had to buy tickets 6 weeks in advance, so no good for those like us doing spur of the moment visits. Back to the Hostel, we were in a 12 bed dorm, only six beds occupied. Each bed had its own light and electric point for European plugs which is great for keeping the mobile charged. The staff were great, very helpful. i made a mistake on the booking and booked for six people instead of just 2 and they sorted this immediately once we phoned them. The showers and toilets are clean and nothing like some people had written in previous reviews we saw. the beds had fresh linen on, the lockers are small but are for your personal items not your suit-cases. There is a member of staff on reception 24-hours a day so any issues are addressed straight away. They sell soft drinks at reception which is great and so convenient. Many thanks for your friendly faces, your help in finding where opticians were as i broke my glasses getting on the plane at Bristol so had issues seeing on that first night. Cant praise the venue and staff enough. I would suggest people turn up and enjoy their stay.
