Hotel Shambaling is an oasis of calm in the teeming , artisanal quarter  leading down to the Boudha Stupa .
easy access to the Airport make this an ideal
stop-over hotel for the transit traveller who wants to explore an interesting area on foot . 
great massage too !

We had a great time. Dinner and Breakfast were great and everyone tried their best to make us feel at home. 

Highly recommend the passion fruit ice Tea and taking some time off from sightseeing to enjoy a Massage in the hotel Spa!

We had the most wonderful stay at the Shambaling Boutique Hotel in Kathmandu.
 
The staff were so welcoming, helpful as well as accommodating. Right from our warm welcome by the reception staff, to the lovely manager and staff at the restaurant, who made sure that the food was to our liking, to the good cleaning staff.

The reception staff helped us with travel information and a map to the Boudha stupa which us just a tem minute walk from the hotel. They also ordered taxis for us when needed.

The resteraunt was accomodating as well. When I wasn't feeling too well and couldn't make it down to breakfast they were nice enough to send some up to my room for me.

The hotel has a lovely outdoor seating option near the entrance as well as the resteraunt where I enjoyed some tea and snacks. The prayer flags as well as warm string lights ad some Cosy magic to the space. There's a neat and clean spa with massages and steam room available and I had a very relaxing massage after a little of sight seeing.

All in all we had a lovely time at the Shambaling hotel. Will definitely stay here again when I visit Kathmandu next and would highly recommend it for people visiting.

Everything was beautiful. The restaurant was great and the food was delicious. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff was amazing - especially friendly and thought of everything. The grounds were lovely. We can’t say enough great things about this place.

We loved our stay in Shambaling hotel. In total we have been here 7 nights and its an amazing place. You will find here Tranquility amidst the buzz of Kathmandu center which is very nearby, fine quality of boedhistic interior, lovingness, kindness and also for the fysical needs: very Nice food, drinks and massage..

I travel to Nepal once or twice a year for Buddhist studies. I always start my stay at Shambaling Hotel. It is a peaceful place to stay with very comfortable guest rooms and a very professional, friendly and supportive staff. The airport shuttle service available with a hotel reservation is the easiest way to transfer from the airport into town. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to Boudanath Stupa, and yet away from tourist crowds. The hotel restaurant serves healthy, delicious food, safe for travelers. As a solo female traveler, I trust and rely on Shambaling Hotel and highly recommend it!!

Very beautiful, peaceful, safe. The rooms are spacious with a living room attached. Breakfast is delicious and service is excellent. All the staffs are very helpful. Had a wonderful time staying at Shambaling Boutique Hotel.

Best Hotel Near Boudanath Stupa

Dear Shambaling crew!
In October 2023 I led a trip to Nepal and Bhutan with 5 friends. We stayed at Hotel Shambaling for a few days before our trip to Bhutan and after our trip! I have been to this hotel many times. Perfectly located near the Stupa Boudha, Hotel Shambaling is an oasis of peace! The employees are very friendly and fulfill every wish. The food is excellent, as is the ambience! A wonderful place to base your visit to Boudhanath and the many fascinating experiences around.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very good facilities in a traditional Tibetan layout. Central gardens, restaurant and spa if that's your thing. Or get plenty of helpful advice about other places of interest and services around.

Shambaling venue is a island of peace and confort, in the exciting town of Kathmandu and inspiring Bodha. They care about details, be it how they welcome and accomodate their guests, but also in the choice of interior design, quality of laundry and the beautiful brandnew but well rooted SPA. The kitchen is exceptionnal, and so is the team, who cares about customer satisfaction, beyond any expectations.

We had a wonderful stay at shambaling. The location is very convenient and accessible to Boudhanath stupa, yet quiet and a peaceful property away from the hustle and bustle. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable with all of our queries, and made us feel at home. We also enjoyed the food at the hotel.

Perfect hotel in Boudha

The best hotel in Kathmandu! Finally, after 3 years back in Nepal! As many times before, I was very much looking forward to spending my days in the beautiful Hotel Shambaling. The outdoor area has been renewed and is very cozy with various sofas and comfortable chairs, the reception has also been renewed, as well as the restaurant. At the Hotel Shambaling you will receive a very warm welcome! The service, the food, the friendliness of the staff, the clean and cozy Rooms, kept in Tibetan style, just everything top! A plus is also the proximity to the Stupa Boudha! I highly recommend Hotel Shambaling! For me, there is no other hotel in Kathmandu!

I have been staying with Shambaling Hotel for years. A very trusted hotel. If you want to feel the vibe of hotel outside of hustle and bustle, this is a good place. 

Staffs are kind and attentive. Rooms are comfortable. And they are evolving and building more better rooms!
