47 reviewsI stayed at Dar Abiad in 2012 .It was the most amazing place I have EVER stayed at in one of the most amazing cities I have ever visited.From the moment we arrived Karim and Jamil were the most welcoming ,helpful,caring hosts I have ever encountered. I will never forget their hospitality and kindest throughout our stay. I booked a 3night stay for me and two girlfriends to escape our busy lives . Dar Abiad is a traditional Moroccan home.Hidden behind small doors and blank high walls,here lies another world...the calming energy of this riad is in stark contrast to the buzz of the souks or the crowds of the square.Dar Riad was an oasis of calm and beauty . The bedrooms are all beautiful and the roof top is a great place to catch some rays in private. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful and dinner can be arranged on request. The ladies that help run the riad are happy , friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble .Luckily the ash cloud prevented us from leaving for 10 extra days..During this time karim and his team did all they could to help us .We were offered unlimited internet access on their computer to check flight information .We were allowed to use the kitchen as we were forced to self cater as we had only budgeted for 3 days.Our treatment during this time will stay with me forever.I will never forget the kindness shown.A stay a Dar Abiad restored my faith in human nature.As the stories of the large hotels ripping off their stranded guest filtered through the news ,our experience couldn't have been more different. So if you want to stay in a traditional Moroccan house,hosted by the nicest people on this planet and the opportunity to have a taste of Moroccan life then stay here. A quick note on rayneestellewilson's review about the troublesome call to prayer and noisy rooster.This is Morocco ! What do you expect.If you DON'T want to taste Morocco stay in Gueliz with its hotel chains, high street shops and McDonald's restaurants....
