Abdul is a mobster, con man, and a liar. We booked a room with my wife and I in the upper room of 20m2 with a view of the garden and breakfast. When we arrived, Abdul introduced himself and after generating fear, we said that the medina of Fez is dangerous so that we would pay him more for being our guide and he presented us with our room. A fantastic room on a 5m2 rooftop with an outdoor bathroom and no view of anything. The view of the garden is from the terrace, said the con man. The next day after insisting for a long time, Abdul took us to another street and was surprised by the street we had seen in the photo.

Ese Riad and Abdul are a scammer.

It's a scam, there's no Riyadh, we hire a plane pack plus a hotel, and when we get there we go looking for Riyadh and there's no street, no number, no phone.

There is a staff.

I cannot understand some of the very negative ratings.
We booked a room in this riad for 5 days and payed like 10€ per night for both of us. We had a very warm welcome and where not pushed to purchase anything else or any trips.
The room itself was very small and the private bathroom was in a seperate room outside. Could be more comfortable, sure but hex: we got what we paid for and expected.
The service was unbelievable friendly. Not everybody was speaking good english and we where not used to French or Arabic but still we had a very good time there and felt like a part of their family.
Later we booked a city trip which was pretty nice and professional. Also the available food in the riad was just great. 
For the last day we‘ve got an upgrade of our room as another couple was leaving. Free of charge.
Last thing to mention is the awesome view from the terrace on the medina - just stunning.

Excellent

We booked a room for that night on our own account and when we returned in the morning to see what happened to the rest of the room they said that they had cancelled our reservation. Every day we didn't have to wait for Lastminute to offer us another hotel for the next day's reception. After our endless flights, we decided that the next night we would have to pay for the next night's reservation, but when we finally got back to the hotel, we decided to make a full refund for the next night's reservation.

It was a horrible experience.

The hotel manager or the smoking gang.. made me wait at the hotel reception for an hour, before kindly informing me that all the rooms are occupied and that he is going to drop us off at a friend's house... I immediately refused and booked another hotel on the spot... this is a bunch of friends who don't give a shit about people's mouths.. a Chinese couple who got the right to the same treatment.

It's awful!

The Palais el yazid is the worst hotel I've ever been to. The rooms are old and dirty. The hotel operator tried to make us slip on large sections of the wall and even right next to the head of the bed. It's unbearable cold and the dirt-studded ceilings on the bed smell so bad that I'd rather sleep in my jacket than use it. The bathroom is a problem, it smelled like a cloakroom. Horrible.

Abdul is a liar, Watch your belongings. He is aggressive and rude. He likes booking.com only. Food is expensive, they dont let you out at night and will tell you it is dangerous so you stay and eat dinner there. He will rip you of at any opportunity. Do not book excursions with him and dont tell him what you have booked, he will just say he can do it cheaper and gets very upset and aggressive. Mohammed is nice. Rooms are very small and dirty, bathrooms are filthy and better not to use.

Dishonest, Rude, Agressive. Watch Abdul, he's watching you!

I stayed here for a week and had the perfect experience. 
The owner Abdul very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure my trip was perfect even driving me to the bus station to pick up a last minute bus ticket.
The rooms are kept very clean and a great fresh cooked breakfast is provided. 
If I return to Fez I'll defiantly be back

The hostel is a very cozy and colorful place. you enjoy a good view and atmosphere on the terrace; in the east you can see a magnificent view of the city. the room is really cozy. with my friends had a good time.

Hello, we came with friends visiting Morocco, we went to the guest house and stayed overnight at the hostel. Very friendly on arrival, Abdul and mohammed are very nice people, they are always attentive to each other so that we are comfortable and comfortable. They also provide you with information about how you should behave in the city so that you take care.
