I'd like to mention about this hotel but it's a very nice place to stay very clean and the kitchen is wonderful they have the best food ever
Also the rooms are very comfortable and they have a wood floor everywhere beyond that they have the greatest service and it's in the middle of downtown if you ever get the time to Bissitt don't waste your time and money is this place

You won't  regret it



The first thing you notice when you walk into this grand old high-ceilinged are all the antiques -- vintage sewing machines, Victrolas, old radios, suits of armor, scales.  Every room is configured differently and furnished differently, so our tour group had fun visiting each other's rooms. There are beautiful old skeleton keys to unlock each door, and some people had trouble making them work.
My room was on a corner! so I had a view of the cathedral from one side, a small balcony, and a view up towards the mountains from the other side of my room.  I loved the big old shutters -- doors, actually -- with their antique hardware, and the fact that I could open them fully or halfway.  While I had great views, and enjoyed the design of my spacious room very much, being on a corner made it doubly noisy.  I heard car stereos, horns and general music and traffic all night long; it was worse, as you'd expect, on Saturday night.
This is, I think, the only hotel in which I've ever seen bathroom scales.  I went down to my friends' suite to "borrow" their scale.
Nothing worked very well in my room -- I had a sumptuous-appearing spa/Jacuzzi bathtub, but I could only coax a trickle of water out of it.  Eventually I managed to "fill" the tub with lukewarm water to a depth of almost two inches.  There was only one channel on TV, which showed vintage Mexican movies in black-and-white.  
There was one small bottle of water in each of our rooms when we checked in.  We weren't given any on subsequent days.  There are a couple of Oxo stores within easy walking distance (on the way to the cathedral, in fact) where you can buy bottled water, snacks, soft drinks, and varieties of coffee.
That's another nice feature of this hotel:  it's very convenient to the historic center of the city; a short walk to the cathedral, Jardin de las Rosas, the Palacio Municipal and restaurants such as the Virrey de Mendoza.
I was with a tour group when I stayed at this hotel, so the price of our room was included in the tour cost.  I have no idea if this hotel was a bargain or not.  I can say that I stayed the following week at a smaller hotel, also in the historic city center, that was very inexpensive and offered more amenities (breakfast, filtered water freely available, fully functioning cable TV).
Hotel Suites Casa Morelia had a lot of charm, if that's what you're looking for.  But if you want good value, maybe shop around a little.

Wonderful place!!!

Quirky architectural gem

We were part of at tour group and spent 5 nights here.  The architecture is very interesting...but the hotel is quite dark.  Scattered about are lamps that aren't plugged in or used anymore...radios, vintage stuff..  Like a walk through various grandmother's attics.  
Out of the 5 days, we only had hot water on 2 of them.  There were safes in all of the rooms but none of them worked.  An iron and ironing board were provided, but the iron was scorched so black you wouldn't dare use it and the ironing board was broken.  Half of the channels on TV were pixelated and internet in the rooms didn't work well.  If you were near the front desk the internet was better.  There was a jacuzzi tub, but no electricity running to it.  On some sites this hotel has advertised breakfast and a bar on their rooftop terrace.  This does not exist.  The noise in our room was nonstop as it was right over a very busy street.  Even earplugs did not block it out.  
It is close to the Cathedral and the main plaza so walking anywhere was convenient.  This hotel could be fabulous.  It needs a creative person to make all the 'set about' vintage pieces work together.    It had an ice bucket and a wine rack...no ice in the hotel.  It had a coffee pot...no coffee filters let alone coffee provided.  It had a kleenex box built into the wall...again, no kleenex provided.  Am guessing you get the picture....
