Hotel Gema Inn

Large, clean rooms; excellent service; good restaurant on the property; large banquet hall for social events, conferences, retreats, etc. The prices at the Gema Inn are VERY reasonable compared to other hotels in the area and the property is MUCH nicer. (We compared it to the Tephe Hotel, Hotel Dios Padre, Hotel Casa Blanca, Hotel Avenida, and a couple of others.) I think it is the best hotel in the Ixmiquilpan area. It's a short drive to the major water parks in the area as well (Tephe, Te-Pathe, Dios Padre). "Restaurant One" on the property is very good. We also highly recommend Marbo Restaurant (a surprisingly great Chinese restaurant just down the road with really great tasting food and beautiful facilities, an unexpected surprise in this small town). Also, if you're ever in the area for the 15 de septiembre, the festivities in Ixmiquilpan are really great. You can see the "grito" on one side and then turn to the other for a good fireworks and "castillo" display. Food is delicious and very inexpensive. If you're visiting Ixmiquilpan, our family and friends highly recommend the Gema Inn. If you're planning a conference or church retreat, this is a great place to make your group reservations.
