Hotel Colonial

This is a family country style hostal type hotel. No luxury here. CHEAP! 250 pesos(U$20 a night!) for a double bed. We stayed four nights. First, it is located more than a kilometer from the bus station, so, with luggage, the options are a 35 pesos ($3) taxi ride or walk a couple of blocks and take the yellow bus that says San Agustin for 5 pesos (40 cents). Get off the bus at the Cruz Roja. The hotel is just across the street. The restaurant was not open and may not reopen for a while. Clean basic room with full bathroom, 100 channels TV, quiet ceiling fan which is nice because it gets hot there, very hot water, clean towels everyday, no phone. We did not bring a laptop so we do not know about wifi, but there is a room with several computers you can rent for next to nothing. Limited but friendly staff. For morning coffee, there is a bigger hotel across the street with a restaurant, modern, nice and friendly too. Visit Dolores Hidalgo, it is a very interesting Pueblo magico. We loved it and will be back.
