RIU Atoll All inclusive Hotel

I won’t repeat everything that’s already said about this wonderful island other than how amazing the staff are. Always smiling and welcoming, from the top to the bottom. Shame some nationalities don’t learn to greet people or say Thankyou like they all do. We’d just returned home from a 5 star first Maldives small island experience when we say this place. We booked it and arrived 5 weeks later. I was worried about comparing the 2 as there are a lot more people here. Riu Atol has a party feeling around the pool and at nights with themes and live music etc. Or Stay outside your block on a sun lounger and just enjoy. We did both. And both are equally as perfect. It’s a long way to the bar from some blocks so some people stay around the bar/pool all day. The lagoon is like nothing on earth. So safe and shallow. Make sure you go to the sand bar at low tide it’s unique. The food is great. So much choice. You will never starve. The 2 ALC restaurants are annoyingly “first come first served” but we always got in after a drink or 2 with the bleeper they give you to call you. People sit outside the “Sports Bar” pre dinner for some unknown reason, yet 20 metres away you can walk in the main evening bar with some quiet music playing. Either in the sandy area or flooring. A beautiful setting. No mozzies or sandflies which was a massive plus. They spray at about 5/6am and it works. If you’ve never snorkelled then please please try it. You don’t have to swim or put a snorkel in your mouth. Just look in the water with a mask. You’ll soon be hooked. Keep your eyes peeled for the abundant sea and wild life. There is so much going on. Best tip. Put water in your waste bin to rinse feet if you have direct beach access. Best secret. Ice cream cones from pool bar. And take away morning (nice) coffee from sports bar for a beach walk. Enjoy paradise!
