OBLU SELECT Lobigili with Free Transfers

After a lot of research, we decided to spend our holiday at Oblu Select. We stayed in a few resorts in the Maldives and I can honestly say that Oblu Lobigili has been our best resort so far. Smooth arrival at the resort after a short boat trip from Male. Welcome with a smile and after check in, our allocated host for our stay - Mery - took us to our villa. Holiday started! Yeah!! A massive Thank You to Mery who kept in touch with us through the app. Always available when we had a question or needed advice but never intrusive. Oblu Lobigili was magical: Room: We had a Nest Water Bungalow. The room was comfortable, choice of pillows, lovely sun terrace going straight into the sea, nice bathroom including The White Company shower gel and shampoo - lovely! Astrid kept our room clean and the mini bar was refilled daily. Food: I would seriously advise losing a couple of kilos before visiting Oblu Lobigili. Ylang Ylang Restaurant:The food is just Amazing. Even with a good resolution not to have deserts at every meal, this very quickly was forgotten because the deserts are awesome. Different every day, every meal. The Chef responsible for the deserts deserved a medal! Not sure where the Chef trained, but Gordon Ramsey would be well impressed!! So much so that I even asked the team to secure couple of recipes for me, which they did with pleasure. A big thank you to the Ylang Ylang Team. The whole team was fantastic. Carol was fabulous, always greeting all guests with a smile. We asked Carol lots of questions about the Maldives and she was only too pleased to spend a bit of time with us and share her knowledge of the Maldives, Ayu was wonderful, always checking that we had enough to eat and drink. Apart from the deserts, all meals are varied, colorful and tasteful. It was a pleasure to eat at the Oblu Select. Underwater Only Blu restaurant: Oh Whoah, AMAZING. We loved it. Saw sharks, lion fish, oriental sweet-lips, box fish and puffer fish and many other fish whilst eating. What a wonderful experience, highly recommended. The food is also wonderful and the wine pairing makes it a truly memorable experience. Jacqueline at the underwater restaurant took great care of us. Gaadiya food truck: 3 course dinner outside, overlooking the sea with a little background music. Again the food was amazing. Steak or Prawns - whatever you decide, everything is amazing. Gym: Oh yes, with so much lovely food and drink, we definitely needed to visit the gym... Select Oblu offers the best gym I have ever seen at a holiday resort in the Maldives. The equipment is new, well maintained, the team at the gym take care of the environment and the equipment. I attended couple of classes and used the gym. 10/10 is my vote!! I also want to acknowledge Lulu, Babu and Randaka, the trainers at the gym. They are friendly, approachable and always greeting eveyone with a smile. I have a niggling shoulder issue and they did not hesitate to give me advise and recommendation on exercises to do and those to avoid. Absolutely wonderful!! The Spa: a must! Sari and Chada took great care of us - thank you. We had 3 treatments and ask for Sari and Chada every time! The Swing Bar: A big Thank You to Sailo and Maya who prepared our drinks with a smile as well as the rest of the team. We have now been home for a couple of weeks and still can't stop talking about Oblu Lobigili. It was truly an amazing holiday. We were a little disappointed with the sea life here, because the reef is quite far from the resort, however, putting this aside, the rest was just Paradise!! We certainly would love to return to the Oblu Lobigili again. In fact, if we could, we would be back tomorrow!!
