Fushifaru Maldives Resort

Just as pictures do not do it justice, words simply fail to articulate how wonderful our time was at Fushifaru. We’ve been fortunate to have visited many beach destinations and this island tops the list for us. From the beautiful, unreal turquoise water, to the beautifully maintained landscape, to the warm hospitality from everyone on the island, to impressive buffets (yes-their buffet spread was extensive and changes daily based on their themed night), we simply felt they exceeded our expectations in every category. No formal clothing required and shoes are optional. Sand is super soft and the water for the most part is calm (especially in the afternoons). Bring your own floaty if you like to bask in the ocean water with the many marine life. Suggest you bring sunscreen, a hat, insect repellent, and a blue tooth speaker (for music). We stayed in 306 Sunrise villa and the view was incredible but that will be the case no matter where your room is. The water off our deck was close to 5 feet in the morning and dips later in the day. The villa is impeccable clean, and housekeeping comes twice a day to provide new towels and replenish the snacks and fridge. You can open the entire door in the oversized restroom for an unobstructed view of the waters. A few recommendations: - consider doing the all inclusive option, we found it less of a hassle - sunset and sunrises are breathtaking, and worth waking up/staying out for - come to the arrival pier at 6p to see nurse sharks and stingrays swimming in to feed - drinking water is safe and tastes good, no need to bring your own - they have a good sized gym that is clean and well-equipped witj free weights and machines - bring small bills for tips. While not expected, the staff works hard and greatly appreciates it - rainy season starts in May and with rain comes mosquitoes We were there for 5 nights, and had one day of rain and a few showers but otherwise sunny most of the time. If there is one opportunity for Fushifaru, I would suggest revisiting the AC units. It was cool in the room but never cold. But not a deal breaker, as we are already planning our return trip.
