Pullman Maldives Resort

We recently enjoyed a seven-night stay at the Pullman, and overall it was a memorable experience. The resort’s secluded location and our Ocean Pool Suite were truly stunning, offering a peaceful and picturesque setting. From the moment we arrived, the warm welcome from staff made us feel right at home. The nightly dinners were consistently delicious, and the waitstaff were attentive, friendly, and a genuine highlight of our stay. The cocktails were also excellent. From our gazebo area, we were able to see a variety of marine life—including colourful fish, reef sharks, and stingrays—and watching the sunrises and sunsets each day was unforgettable. We took part in two excursions: the sunset dolphin cruise, where we saw an impressive number of dolphins, and a fishing trip where we caught a snapper that the restaurant prepared for us the next day. It was outstanding. On our final night, we upgraded to the Aqua Villa, which was an exceptional experience and one I would highly recommend. There were, however, a few areas that fell short. We were advised that advance bookings were required for Souq Oven and The Phat Chameleon, but despite trying to make reservations for several nights, we were only able to dine at each restaurant once. This was disappointing, as it meant relying on buffet dining for most of the stay—something that felt limited considering the overall cost of the trip, which was approximately AUD 21,000. Additionally, during the weekend, a large group of over a hundred guests checked in and appeared to receive priority for many services. Their presence significantly affected the tranquillity of the island due to the noise and disruptions. It was also disheartening to witness some members of the group speaking to staff in a disrespectful manner. The Pullman team works exceptionally hard, and I hope the hotel continues to support and value them. A special thank-you to Chance, our host, whose excellent service truly enhanced our stay.
