Sun Siyam Olhuveli Resort 

To celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, we booked our itinerary through PickYourTrail and chose Sun Siyam Olhuveli Maldives and oh my god, this was nothing short of a magical memorable stay experience. It's a slightly long post, but deserves the details. We spent 3 nights and 4 days at the resort, with one night in the Grand Beach Villa with Pool and two nights in the Grand Water Villa with Pool — and honestly, it felt like living inside a postcard. From the very beginning, the experience was smooth and seamless. We used the Olhuveli app to manage our stay throughout. The pre-arrival process through the resort app was seamless and convenient. The app made it easy to provide check-in before arrival, access resort information, check day-by-day event schedules and even book them prior. The meet-and-assist service at Male airport was excellent. The team really handles different arrivals so effortlessly . The transition from airport to speedboat was extremely well coordinated and stress-free. With refreshing face-towels provided upon start, wifi-on-board, water, lifejackets, restroom etc, the speedboat transfer itself was comfortable, scenic, and gave us that magical “Maldives arrival feeling” the moment we saw the endless shades of turquoise around us. The welcome experience at the resort sets the tone for the rest of the stay. We were greeted with drums, conch shells, genuine smiles, refreshing drinks, and warm hospitality that instantly made us feel valued. Worth mentioning is that a team member is assigned to each guest family and they guide you with all the information on a resort map brochure. Really makes navigation easy on the island. Sun Siyam Olhuveli is a stunning set of 3 connected islands The island is beautifully maintained, with white sandy pathways, crystal clear lagoons, lush tropical greenery, and plenty of scenic spots that make every walk feel relaxing. Despite being a large resort with multiple sections, it never feels crowded. Moving around the island was easy and enjoyable, whether by foot or very frequent e-bus/buggy service available at multiple points throughout the island. Our stay in both villa categories gave us two completely different but equally amazing experiences. The Grand Beach Villa offered privacy, direct beach access, and a cozy tropical island vibe. Waking up just steps away from the ocean was beautiful in itself. They have an open bathroom/relaxing area which is worth mentioning. The Grand Water Villa with Pool was truly exceptional and has to be experienced for sure. The views were breathtaking from every angle, especially during sunrise and sunset. The private pool, overwater deck, direct lagoon access using stairs from the villa and spacious interiors created an unforgettable luxury experience. Sitting on the deck at night listening to the ocean is something we will remember for a very long time. Both the rooms were extremely well designed and thoughtfully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable and luxurious stay. From the quality of the bedding to the spacious bathrooms, lighting, amenities, minibar, and seating areas — every detail felt premium and well maintained. Housekeeping was excellent throughout our stay. The dining experience deserves special appreciation. The buffet spreads across breakfast, lunch, and dinner were genuinely impressive — both in quality and variety. These were the largest spread we have personally experienced till now. Every meal felt like an international culinary experience. Extensive selection including fresh seafood, grilled items, Maldivian dishes, vegan items, Asian dishes, Indian cuisine, continental options, salads, desserts, and live counters. The restaurant staff were consistently attentive, welcoming, and efficient. You will always find someone from the team to reach out for anything. The resort also does a wonderful job creating a lively yet relaxed atmosphere through various events and activities. From evening entertainment and live music to cultural performances and recreational options, there was always something happening without taking away from the peaceful island experience. What truly elevated the experience for us was the special care taken for our 25th wedding anniversary celebration. The thoughtful inclusions of anniversary decoration, cake and wine, sunset cruise etc added a very personal touch to our stay and made us feel genuinely celebrated. It is these little details that transform a good resort stay into a truly memorable one. Another aspect worth highlighting is the responsiveness of the team through WhatsApp communication. Whether it was arranging assistance, clarifying information, transport requests, or general queries, responses were always quick, polite, and efficient. Special mention to our Island host - Kosta. He was always available to help us with our queries and requests. Throughout the stay, what consistently stood out was the service culture of the resort. Every staff we came across, carried a warm smile and made sure to pause and greet us. The hospitality felt sincere rather than mechanical, and that makes all the difference. Sun Siyam Olhuveli gave us exactly what we hoped for in a milestone anniversary trip — relaxation, luxury, beautiful surroundings, excellent food, and heartfelt hospitality. We left with wonderful memories and definitely would love to return again in the future.
