Diamonds Thudufushi Maldives Resort & Spa

Pretty island with a relaxed and easy-going vibe. The sea water is clear and warm and the beach is a beautiful expanse of soft, white sand wrapping around the island. Truly a place to unwind and rejuvenate. The house reef is a great place to snorkel and we regularly spotted turtles, sharks, eagle rays, snapper, grouper, numerous other sea creatures - and when we were there in late June/early July - mantas. Accommodation in either beach or over-water villas is cleaned twice a day and fresh towels etc. provided. The basic beach villa, whilst comfortable with a lovely outside bathroom, lacked a mini bar and safe in the room which was surprising to us. It was wonderful to wake up to the beach view though. Overwater villas are well thought out with a great walk-in wardrobe which is perfect for really being able to unpack and settle in. They also have a well stocked mini bar with wine/beer/soft drinks and water. The bed is large and comfortable with great pillows and high quality bedding. A big shout-out must go to the staff - without whom the experience would not have been so fabulous. Sabirash - Wow - best coffee ever! Sadeep- Salads, sushi, pickles, dressings and salsas - brilliant! Kandala - Fruits, fresh juices, desserts and the ice-cream of dreams with lovely thoughtful service - fantastic! Saeed - wonderful, thoughtful room cleaning/decoration and always smiling - thank you! Diving was with IDive and the team was fantastic - big shout out to Alesea, Marco, Mario, Pietro and Jako - professional, fun and imbued me with a love of diving - with special thanks to Alesea for her expertise and thoughtful sea- life spotting. Thanks for the video memories too. Very special!
