Baltic Apartments

We rented three bedroom apartment as it was working day and off season we had a second floor all for ourselves. It included three good size bedrooms all with double beds and balcony. Two of the rooms had sofas and all of them had TV. In one of the rooms it was hard to find a socket to charge a phone. We had one bathroom with shower to share between all of us and a small kitchen. Unfortunately there was no living room to hang out or eat together. We had to squeeze in a small kitchen around little table. There was a fridge and all cutlery needed to cook and eat there and make coffee or tea. Only two of rings on the hob worked. I didn't really like the fact you have to let them know what time you are planning to arrive as there is no reception as such and the owners have to come to give you the key and show around. We phoned them half an hour before arrival and there was noone there when we arrived so we had to phone again. The guy arrived and showed us around gave us the key. He was able to converse in Lithuanian, English and Russian with no problems. He gave us tips about Palanga and gave us a map. We had to pay right away after check in and on the booking.com website it stated that we can pay by card. Unfortunately there was no such an option. Make sure you bring enough cash with you. The rooms were clean but the bathroom looked very sad. It looked dirty as all corners of the shower were black and looked mouldy. Unfortunately looking horrible. One more thing to note- bring your own toiletries. There was only a hand soap provided. There were plenty of towels for our use but no toiletries. There is free wifi and you can park right by the house in the backyard. It was not very safe for our two year old in the apartment as we had to look after him all the time as staircase going down was right there. If we were in the kitchen and the rooms were open he could go there easily. But again it is just the matter of our own. It could have been easier for us if we stayed on the first floor. Everything is very close. Market, supermarket, town centre and musical fountain. The sea is a bit further. Takes a long walk. As it was only one night stay and we didn't spend too much time there I can rate it as very good. But I won't be able to stay there sharing with strangers or for longer than that. We were on the second floor and we had our own entry but I suppose there are more rooms upstairs as there was a staircase leading there. If there was a full house people might be walking through passing or even sharing the same kitchen and/or bathroom. We had a great family time in Palanga and slept very well despite all the little things we didn't like. That is why I am rating it as very good stay. Also we were allowed to leave our car in the backyard a bit longer after checking out which was super beneficial for us. We paid 66 EUR for one night stay for 6 people.
