Corner House

Firstly, this is registered as a B&B,but there's a separate bar/pub that's open to the public. Great little find!, sad to say that two days into Jordan we were looking for a beer and came across the Corner House from some notes I'd made off google maps. The bar is quite idyllic - lovely outside veranda as well as a spacious interior. Clearly popular with the young European travellers who, like us oldies just needed a beer in an otherwise largely dry city. We'd arrived just before 19:00 to be told that there was a happy-hour in operation for drinks-by-the-glass until 20:00 - which made the evening's eating and drinking both pleasurable and affordable. Unfortunately, my wife had a minor panic attack thinking her phone had been lost/stolen (it was later found in our hotel room), which she noticed just around the time that HH finished - so we made our excuses and left to check the whereabouts, otherwise I'd have been very happy to spend more time here. Good music (80's rock, and such-like), energetic atmosphere (even for us oldies), and a very good server (didn't catch his name, one of the bearded hipsters working there) who kept us in drink until my wife's phone panic. Good venue, basic food, affordable booze. Cocktails were good, beer cheap and the wine passable. We'll try to get back!
