Hotel Okura Tokyo South Wing 

Disclaimer: I was a guest before the whole renovation. Location: amazing! This is a unique place with such big land inside Tokyo. In the city center, easily accessible, surrounded by everything that’s important for your visit. Transportation: taxi, subway or chauffeur Welcome&front desk: spectacular. About 10 people were helping us with luggage, keeping our smile from the very first second. FD super fast, helpful, and extremely well trained. Building: that is something that lured me to the hotel. This is classic minimalism that I truly love and I can only hope that renovation will keep that zen and essence of the original “soul”. The whole venue is enormous! Room: a bit outdated for sure but I was aware of that before arrival. The whole hotel was on the list for the renovation, so that was the last chance to see it as Steve Jobs did (his favorite hotel in Tokyo). Not very spacious but elegant and minimalistic. Everything right in place. Dining: breakfast was a little bit too poshy, meaning, that you eat at the silver plate with a royal ceremony which might be good for some but not for everyone. In essence: delicious, healthy, staff can make anything you want. One thing thou: hotel guests are queued in the same line as people from the outside (yes; not guests) which is ridiculous. Overall: pleasant, royal, exceptional stay in - for sure - one of Japanese gems. Waiting for re-opening!
