Excellent
This hotel may no longer be the "hidden gem" it used to be, but it’s still a great place to stay. It’s around a 10 minute walk from the nearest subway station and about 20 minutes to Shinjuku, but that actually works in its favour. The neighbourhood is quiet and mostly residential, which makes it a nice change from the busier parts of the city. Ni-chome (Tokyo's gaybourhood) is also only a five-minute walk away - which is a bonus if you're that way inclined! The only real drawback was waiting for the elevators during busy times, as there are just two for the hotel. It was also a little inconvenient not being able to use any stairs to reach the floors with the water dispensers - you had to wait for the elevators... The "semi-double" room was totally fine for 1 person (and luggage) but it'd be uncomfortable if you had to share. Everything worked well, and overall the room was comfortable and well maintained. Check out the "York Foods" store nearby too - it's a huge supermarket and often has discounted in the evenings, and is great for any food souvenirs!
