The Prince Sakura Tower Tokyo, Autograph Collection 

Recently stayed 5 nights at the lovely Prince Sakura Tower Tokyo hotel. These 5 nights was part of an extended family 2 week trip in Japan where we booked 2 rooms. We have been fortunate enough to visit Tokyo in the past where we either stayed with friends or the Ritz Carlton Tokyo Mid-town. As we were traveling with family members who hadn't been to Japan before, we wanted to have a less costly room rate while in Tokyo as well as be close to a train station. After reading reviews, selected the Prince Sakura as it was very close to the JR Shinagawa Station and had moderate hotel rates (for Tokyo). Another appeal for the Sakura was that its hotel rooms were generous in size, for Tokyo. Admittedly, I was concerned that I would be disappointed in the Sakura given that we stayed at the Ritz Carlton in the past (which wouldn't be reasonable given the room rate difference) But our reaction was the exact opposite. From the moment we were dropped off at the front of the hotel and walked into the lobby, we were hooked. Check in was smooth and every staff member we encountered were to customer focused. We found the hotel's common areas to be not only wonderful appointed but extremely clean. Both of our rooms were generous in size, with one of the rooms being a corner room with views of Tokyo Tower. Some reviewers indicate that the rooms look a little dated. We didn't think so. (For reference, the room furnishings at the Tokyo Ritz Carlton were the same during our 2024 stay as our 2013 stay). Loved that the toilet was in a separate room from the shower/sink room (2 sinks). The nightly turndown service and daily housekeeping were excellent. Our favorite thing of all at the Prince Sakura were the gardens - truly amazing. After checking in after a 14 hour flight, we all decided just to pick up sandwiches at the 7-11 in the sister hotel Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanwawa where we had to walk through the gardens. It was already dark out, but as soon as we stepped into the garden, it was a truly magical Japanese welcome, with the garden lite up with lights and some winter cherry blossoms in bloom. It was breathtaking. We found it very handy to have access to 7/11 in both the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanwawa and Grand Prince Hotel Takanwawa. One of our 2 rooms had access to the Executive lounge (Marriott Rewards Member). Did try to have breakfast in the Prince Sakura Executive Lounge - but there was about a 45 minutes wait - so we made other plans. We did have evening cocktail hours at the Executive Lounge at the Grand Prince Hotel Takanwawa and we enjoyed it. As for the Prince Sakura close proximity to the JR Shinawgawa Train Station - we thought it was terrific - a very easy walk that we did daily - including when we moved onto our next hotel in Kyoto. So much easier to roll your carryon a few minutes to catch the Shinkansen as opposed to taking a taxi as we had done on past trips. After our great experience - the Prince Sakura Tower Tokyo has become our go to hotel for future trips.
