APA Hotel Keisei Ueno Ekimae 

Went in February, wintry cold weather at sub 10 celsius. APA Keisei Ueno has the best location if you intend to take the Keisei Skyliner train to Narita airport. The Good - Location, just 2 mins walk to Keisei Ueno Skyliner Ekimae for the express train, ~45mins to Narita Airport, all terminals. - Easy 8mins walk to JR East Ueno Station for trains to other parts of Tokyo. - 5 mins walk to lots of eateries & small shops at Ameyoko, Ueno Park - bathroom has a small tub for a nice hot soak after shopping - i think APA installed new lightings in the bedroom since my last stay years back. - I love the new brighter lightings. - Provide jammies n full toiletries for stay. - Express check out machine- u just have to return room key via machine at reception area. The Not So Good - Room size- booked a single room and a double room, both rooms are same size at 11sqm, rather tight space for couple with luggages, ie u cannot open 2 luggages in the same room at the same time. - the hotel interior does not have heating along the corridors, so it is cold n have to don a jacket to walk within the hotel premises. - Couldnt activate the room aircon remote to get the desired temperature despite an English pamphlet. - APA provides 2 bottles of complimentary mineral water on your 1st night only. If u stay for more days, you need to buy your own. The So- So - Booked rooms with breakfast, which was simple Japanese with grilled fish, hard boiled egg, rice, miso soup & also breads & pastries & beverages. - Good if u want to just eat in but there are plenty of good options beyond the hotel within 5mins walk. - breakfast is simple Japanese fare, breads, hot beverages. It would be great if it had onsite onsen for a proper nice hot soak. I would still recommend APA Keisei Ueno Ekimae highly for its location, but be aware the rooms are small. Please be mindful there are a few APA at Ueno.
