Guest House Iyonchi

Staff were friendly, spoke great English. The room was simple but comfortable. The common area was nice to sit and chat. They have limited rentals for bikes and snorkel/mask, first come first served. Located near the only grocery store on the island. Only con was that they turn off the hot water after from 11pm to 7am. Making early departure showers difficult.

We spent 4 wonderful days on Zamami Island in Iyonchi Guesthouse. The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. Though it is not a luxury hotel, and the room is maybe a bit small but it has all the basic facilities, what we need in such a place (two futon beds, fridge, hair dryer, air conditioner, balcony, kitchen equipments in the common area.) The surroundings of the accomodation is very quiet, and the other guests also didn't disturb us. Everything is very close, the port, the shop, and restaurants take about 5 minutes on foot, in addition Ama- and Furuzamami beaches are also nearby (5/10 minutes by bike). We liked the bike rental for a reasonable price. We thank "Iyonchi family" for everything again! We can absolutely recommend this guesthouse for everybody!

The Iyonchi family were so welcoming on arrival of our stay, helped us with booking the ferries prior to our trip and were there to greet us off the ferry. They have good knowledge of the island so gave us lots of recommendations. The guest house was very clean, organised and had great facilities. The island was beautiful, couldn't recommend it enough. Everyone should go to see the sea turtles alone.

Mr and Mrs Iyonchi gave the friendliest welcome possible with reasonable English spoken.  The rooms are very clean and comfortable but basic.  Good location.  I brought ear plugs which probably helped for a good nights sleep.  I paid 2,000 yen for a futon in the dormitory but had the room to myself.  No meals are provided but there is a shop 2 minutes away and a fridge, microwave and kettle in the communal area.  Bikes available for rent - free for under 1 hour; 500 yen for under 6 hours and 1,000 yen for the day.

Friendliest welcome......

You can hear everything. The guy next door decided to snooze his alarm every 2 mins from before 7am until 7.30am and I could hear it every single time. 

The 'beds' seemed quite fun but it is way too hard if you're not used to sleeping on these kind of beds.

Not many breakfast options around the island as most hotels offer breakfast but not Iyonchi as it's one of the most basic ones. We struggled to have breakfast both days, went to Cha Villa where they offered a very simple breakfast but the lady was super helpful and gave us some tips for the island. Apparently the only place for breakfast is La Toque but you need to pre-book the day before. 

I booked a room with a mini bathroom + shower but I am not sure if all rooms have it- there are shared toiled and showers downstairs.
