The room and bathroom are very clean and it is located near sight seeing places

Yuji-inn was in a great location, and the room was basic but clean and comfortable. The owner is very helpful, and all the shared spaces are super-clean, and nicely designed. It's great value for a location right on the edge of the historic canal area, but also easy walk to supermarket, train station etc.

Not a bad thing, but be aware that it feels a little more like a hostel than a guest house - all facilities are shared, no towels provided, no room locks (small safe boxes where you provide your own lock) and the house is closed during the day (although we were given a code so we could get access).

I really enjoyed my time at Kakure-Yado Yuji-inn - Hostel. The staff is really like a family and they are really inviting. Like my title says, the hostel is very close to Kurashiki - So the Ohara Art Museum, Kurahsiki Ivy Square, etc. I will say that the hostel is actually in a narrow alley. But the area is super safe, so I wouldn't worry too much about it! (This is more so a heads up when you're looking for it for the first time.) But yeah - A great hostel; I would certainly recommend it.

The hostel was great! It was a traditional Japanese house in the center of the sightseeing area, the house was clean and the host was very nice and helpful!

This guesthouse is located just in the middle of the historic neighbourhood in Kurashiki, in a charming very narrow street, close to the river. The guesthouse maintains a very traditional Japanese style, with enchanting Japanese style rooms and a very pleasant common area, where we could have breakfast and other meals. Everything very clean and in impeccable good condition. The friendly owner, Yuji, is very attentive and helpful and speak good English. That was definitely a great find in Kurashiki and a place we would certainly stay again!

Good guest house, nice owner, happy stay.

We (2 adults, 2 children) stayed at Yuji-Inn for 4 days and used it as a base to travel around the region.  Yuji and his wife are generous with their time.  On Christmas Eve, they shared takoyaki with us and our fellow guests.  Every time we left for a day of sightseeing, Yuji printed off a timetable of the trains we needed and gave us an overview of what we could expect to see.  Yuji also provided recommendations for dinner - although his preferred choice was booked out on 3  evenings and closed the other evening - tip, go early or be happy to wait!

The Yuji-Inn is immaculately clean and has free coffee (instant) and tea.  As for potential downsides, there are few.  Like most inns at this price point, showers, toilets and hot tub are communal - but immaculately clean.  The rooms are comfortable, warm in winter and with comfortable traditional Japanese futons.

I would recommend the inn to anyone looking for a cheap(ish) base to explore the town and the local area.

The guest house is located near the canal and bikan district, it is super clean and the vanity sinks are very pretty! The owner is exceptionally friendly and helpful and the water bottles are super cosy on a night. We stayed three nights and also visited takahashi and tomonoura as day trips.

Yuji Inn is a very friendly guesthouse located in the old district in kurashiki. Plus: very friendly staff, nice common room, free coffee, cheap basic breakfast, fantastic location, tatami rooms. Minus: a bit pricy compared to similar accommodation, probably due to prime location. Shared washing facilities, no towels provided, you must bring down your sheets. Would anyway consider staying here again if in kurashiki. I'd staying in the bikan area, consider that many restaurants will close at 5 pm ( some food can be found in bars)
