We spent one night at the Hatoya Hotel and enjoyed a truly unique experience for a North American traveller. The staff were most accommodating, the food was excellent, and the onsen was well equipped and spotless. The tatami room with its traditional bathroom, rice paper walls, and separate seating area introduced us to Japanese culture and life. We feel privileged to have had this opportunity.
