We had the most wonderful stay at this cozy ski-in/ski-out hotel. It’s the ideal retreat from the hustle of Tokyo or Kyoto – peaceful, scenic, and incredibly convenient, just a quick 10-minute taxi ride from Yamanouchi Station (taxis were easy to find and reasonably priced). The staff were truly exceptional – so kind and attentive, they made us feel genuinely welcome. We also loved the delicious traditional Japanese meals and relaxing in the onsen after a day on the slopes. There’s a handy ski rental and gift shop on-site, but we’d recommend bringing a few snacks and drinks – the nearby Lawson has limited stock and higher prices. Ski food was a fun surprise: we enjoyed kebabs, curry, THE best hot chocolate, and even some sneaky mulled wine at the top of the Mt. Ryuoo cableway (Sora Terrace). Don’t miss the fresh crepes and ramen stand just outside the hotel in the afternoons – perfect after skiing! If you're after a quiet, well-located base for your snow adventures with genuine hospitality and cozy charm, this place is a gem. We can’t wait to return!
