The accommodation is a 1min walk from the main transport hub (happo one bus terminal) making it incredibly easy to access all of the mountains in hakuba valley. The owners are wonderful and very pleasant. Facilities include a coin laundry, onsen and a dry room for all your wet snow gear.  If you do stay definitely get the dinner there is so much incredible food. I would 100% stay here again on another snow trip 

Stayed with my wife at Charme Inaba for 5 nights whilst in Hakuba. The room is basic, but lots of space, great heater, nice staff who put alot of effort into cleaning and providing a tasty japanese breakfast. 1min walk to Happo Bus Terminal (perfect for days at the snow) and rented gear <1min walk away. Plenty of restaurants/bars within 5-10min walk. Would definitely stay again.
This isnt a 5 star hotel, but it was exactly what we needed
Also has plenty of space in drying room for gear.

It is just roughly 100 metres up the street from the Hakuba bus station, where you get on to other cities or the various ski--field shuttles. Explore all the little streets around this hotel and eat at so many little restaurants every day. It is showing the building's age, as the amenities are very 80's and walls between rooms are a bit thin. But as you should be out most days and night, you really just sleep. I feel here, as with many Japanese businesses, the owners live and work in the hotel. Even with a language barrier as we spoke little of eachother's languages, they were very polite and courteous! Hope the rooms get a little updated soon, otherwise a brilliant place!

Stayed here for a week whilst in Hakuba skiing. The building is centrally located near the information centre where buses leave from to the resorts, and within walking distance to Happo One. 

The rooms are large and a mix of western/Japanese style. Mattresses are quite hard and the pillows were thin but we beefed them up with towels. Could see the mountains from the room. 

The facilities are good with a board room and large drying room (one of the best I have used). There are also male and female onsens which we haven't tried yet. 

We had breakfast here each day. Both western and Japanese food is available however the standard hot food that is served tends to be a bit more Japanese with the occasional french toast or such. Limited cereal etc available but in Asia as you know you're lucky to find any. Plenty of toast, tea, OJ etc. 

Of special note is the dinner! We could not believe it. So humbly served yet so amazing. We sat down to a table with a hot pot on it thinking that was it but were surprised to see about another 5 courses come out! Would have been incredibly time consuming to prepare and all the food was delicious. Almost ends up being a Japanese degustation. Highly recommend and if we were correct in our maths it ends up being only $20pp.

Finally the staff are lovely and incredibly patient with our lack of Japanese. They don't speak much English but you get the message across. 

Definitely recommend, was also much more reasonably priced than most other places.

Our family of two adults, an 11 and a 13 year old spent 10 nights at the Charme Inaba hotel in January 2015.

We were impressed by the size of the rooms and the location, in the centre of Happo Village with its many restaurants, ski stores etc, and 50m or so from the Happo Bus Terminal which provides access to all the Hakuba ski resorts.

We had two twin single rooms, which for Japan (and indeed for many hotels) were huge. The hotel is just a little worn, but very clean and welcoming.

There are ski lockers and a drying room.

The hotel has a male and female onsen, which my wife and I enjoyed, but a small warning...if onsens aren't your thing, ensure to book a room with a shower, as the communal onsen showers are the only option if your room doesn't have one.

A three course Japanese style breakfast was included, along with a buffet selection which included cereal and toast for those not wanting a more Japanese start to the day.

The staff (who all appeared to be one family) were friendly, but had limited English...something that in no way bothered us. They offered to move our kids to a room with an ensuite shower on the second day. (Our other room had an ensuite toilet and basin, but no shower.) They also adjusted our "Japanese" breakfasts to something more of a fusion of Japanese and western as the stay progressed (based upon what our kids (and I) left uneaten).

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Charme Inaba, and found it to be great value for money.
