Shields Negril Villas

Stayed a week in the one bedroom with a kitchenette. There are not many pictures of the kitchenette so I made sure to take some pics. The place is very spacious, there was one bedroom with two beds, dresser and tv with some cable channels. Bathroom had a shower with good water pressure. Outside of the bedroom there was a closet and another area to hang your clothes. In the living room area there is a bed, dresser, tv with cable channels and a dining room table with 4 chairs. Off of the living room is a small kitchen complete with a stove with oven and four burners, refrigerator, sink, pots and pans, silverware, dishes, a coffee maker, kettle for tea, toaster and microwave. The place was larger than I imagined and very comfortable. The ac was working great. We ate at the restaurant there often. The food was very good in my opinion. They have a variety of things including Jamaican favorites like jerk chicken, escovitch, rice and peas and some soups. They also have burgers etc. The restaurant’s prices are typical of the beach prices. Everyone that works at the restaurant and beach bar are so nice and accommodating, they really try to make sure you get what you are looking for. There’s a security guard always on duty to keep the “salesmen” on the beach from bugging you while you’re eating. I was very surprised by the food in the restaurant and don’t agree with some of the past reviews talking about the food being bad, I thought it was quite good and I consider myself a foodie. The location of the hotel is right on the beach and you are within walking distance of the town with small shops and restaurants. We enjoyed fresh fruit everyday from the fruit market in town. There’s no WiFi in the rooms but there’s WiFi in the lobby, slow WiFi as I found that to be true for every part of Jamaica I was in. I can’t think of enough kind words to say about the staff. From the front desk, to the maids and to everyone working in the restaurant. Great price for a comfortable, clean and safe place.
