Resort Grande Baia

The staff were incredibly helpful and efficient. I was exhausted, having had a difficult journey with sickness, when we arrived early at the resort and they quickly sorted our room hours before official check-in so I could rest and enjoy the beginning of our stay. The food was so fresh and varied, we ate breakfast and dinner in the main buffet restaurant all week and it was a pleasure each time. The highlight was the Sardinian male choir that serenaded on the Friday night. The entertainment staff were fantastic, so great with the children (and parents!). And so professional, enthusiastic and passionate when they must have been singing these songs and performing similar routines for months. We are still dancing to the Samarcanda soundtrack in our living room! I have a video to cherish of my 3 year old giggling away to their comedy sketch. The mix of Italian with a little English thrown in to aid understanding worked well. Tennis court was basic but it was free to use and the hotel provided rackets and balls for free which was great. We loved the little walk down to the gorgeous pebbled and soft sand beach. We booked a day at Cala Brandinchi beach which was stunning but after a day there, we walked back to the resort and through the Grande Baia beach and really preferred it for its charm and beautiful view of the Tavolara island. The hotel pool was fine but perhaps could benefit from a little more interest/modernisation if I’m being picky. It would have been nice to have a shallow toddler pool next to the main pool (there was a baby pool but this was attached to the kids, club building). The spa was large, I was really impressed with my treatment and the outdoor pools there were beautiful. We had takeaway pizzas for lunch from Pizzeria Saffi which were delicious. The water on site was too expensive so my husband waked to the nearby campsite supermarket and brought back some packs. The hotel room was lovely and spacious. Beautiful bathroom. I would have appreciated a tea service. The room was cleaned every day and fresh towels each day. Overall it was fantastic for a week away with the family, only 30 minutes from Olbia airport.
