We had a late change to our train travel plans, and were not exactly thrilled at the prospect of a night at the only half decent-looking hotel in Lamezia. But we were so wrong! It was a pleasure from start to finish. The uniformed (- a nice touch -) staff were courteous and helpful. The bar was lively, the restaurant was a bit plain but the quality of the food was first class, and very good value. The rooms were in what appeared to be a more modern part of the hotel, and were large and well-appointed, with comfy beds, a powerful shower, WiFi sockets and efficient aircon. A decent breakfast too, again served by friendly staff. And the train station (and airport, I believe) is literally on the doorstep. We never got to see Lamezia itself but would definitely stay again its Grand Hotel!
