Excellent
4841 reviewsWe found this hotel really very good indeed. We booked here to join friends who had also booked for three nights. They too were delighted with their stay. We’ve all stayed in Leonardo hotels in Southampton before - both locations - so we knew there’d be a certain level of good service. Here in Dublin it was great. All the staff were friendly and real helpful. The Guinness is good here. Our room was just perfect too. There’s a good and noticeable level of security around the hotel, which is very reassuring for guests particularly as Dublin isn’t a safe idyll at all and the blame lies wholly with lousy politicians. I’d read a lousy review on this hotel by a plasticburger (PB) written about a week or so ago. They seemingly didn’t recognise they were in Dublin Ireland and not Barcelona. In Dublin Irish and English are spoken. Seemingly PB asked a receptionist in this Dublin hotel a question in Spanish and was dissatisfied with a reply in Catalan. How piteous. My tip use google translate mate and get out more. PB must have stayed at a different hotel to us, as we recognised none of their alleged experiences. I hit on the icon to find PB had written a total of six condemnatory reviews over years against my over 800. Not one of these six was complimentary rather severely critical so pinch of salt on PB. The breakfast area was crowded as it’s rather small but not uncomfortable. Breakfast was darn good; even their machine coffee was fairly good. I’ve two personal criticisms of brekky but wouldn’t knock off stars - add salt and milk to the porridge and buy in decaf tea bags. And if you’ve not yet experienced cheap Irish pork sausages for breakfast do try theirs. Yes they are likely unhealthy and full of rubbish but they taste excellent; nobody does cheap sausages as well as Irish hotels. Hope to return sooner rather than later and this goes for our friends who like us don’t speak Catalan or Spanish.
