We stayed at Carriglea House with friends prior to our wedding. It is a beautiful, historic house with warm spaces to gather and charming touches to make it perfect. Eileen is a wonderful host and the property is simply stunning.

House was very clean and in good condition. Beds are very comfortable. Very close to Killarney town. Lots of space and had a nice view. Right next to the national park. Big garden in front of both houses, so lots of space to play football etc.

This was a golf trip to the south of Ireland with 7 close friends. Carriglea House was a great base from which we ventured out daily to the different golf courses we played.  It is a few kilometers from Killarney and a 5 minute cab ride into town.
   The house has that quaint Victorian feel on a large expanse of land. All the rooms are comfortable , clean and spacious. The wifi works well and John and Eileen are great hosts ( they live just behind the house). We also had an Irish breakfast each morning before our departure, which they prepared. 
   Eileen would also leave cupcakes or some sort of dessert in the kitchen for us to snack on. The refrigerator was always full of ice and all the amenities worked well and were at our disposal. 

A great retreat I would recommend

We shared this beautiful manor house with three other families while in Killarney for All Ireland’s.   It was clean, picturesque, charming and spacious.   Hosts were very welcoming.  My family of four had plenty of room for stepping away from the group, but mostly enjoying gathering in the kitchen or the front sitting room with its wonderful fireplace.  Dining room also had a fireplace and a gorgeous view of Killarney National Park.  We hiked into the park multiple times, walked to Muckross Abbey, and still were perfectly situated for quick trips into town.  Lovely home!

This was the best place we stayed by far on our trip along the West Coast. Eileen was an exceptional host! She gave us loads of information about Killarney and the Ring of Kerry, she was always happy to help with whatever we needed, so chatty and friendly! 
The house is beautiful, so much charm and character, we loved it! Especially the horses! Really great location close to the town and Muckross. 
The rooms were lovely and had everything we needed and the breakfast was fabulous! Can't wait to go back but for longer this time!

I stayed here part of a golfing party all last week. From the moment our hosts John and Eileen warmly greeted us , we knew we were going to really enjoy our stay at this historic holiday house. 
Plenty of room throughout to sleep, bathe, dine and relax in the traditional setting within the house. Also with a beautiful front garden with spectacular views of the house and outward to the lake and mountains.

The traditional country kitchen with working Aga  was special, also fully equipped with good basic food accompaniments already provided and excellent modern kitchen and washing equipment for all your holiday needs. 

A sPecial  mention must go to Eileen who spoiled us with home made cakes,  that after a rainy day golfing, made for a delicious treat. 

A short walk to a great bar and restaurant at the acorns hotel and a further few paces to the local Spar store. Just a 5 minute cab ride into Killarney too. 

If you are looking for a base to tour Kerry as tourists or golfers as a large group or family, I could not think of a better location with an assured Irish welcome to select. 

We had the best of times staying at the Carriglea House! We were in the heart of Ireland looking out on the Lakes of Killarney! The family that owns the home was exquisite and we loved them! I would recommend this beautiful place to anyone visiting Ireland. There are smaller cottages near by. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality!
