The most beautiful girl Jessica martins served myself and my boyfriend tonight. She was so so kind attentive and caring in her way of serve. She was cheerful and lovely and would recommend her service  to anyone.

We went to this restaurant last night and had a lovely meal. Food was excellent, especially the vegetable curry..yum! All the food ordered was very tasty and freshly cooked. We will definitely be back soon. 
Initially we thought the prices were a little expensive however the quality and presentation of our order made up for this. 
The staff were very friendly and efficient, our waiter in particular was lovely. Overall we really enjoyed the atmosphere despite the covid restrictions, every effort was made to make the evening enjoyable. 
The staff followed all covid regulations fully and the place was very clean. The toilets were pristine. Well done!

We visited 12th lock for dinner. Lovely pleasent evening. With all the changes/regulations they are doing an excellent job. The outdoor space is very comfortable with heaters dotted around area. Tables spaced and only 15 people at one sitting. Three time slots available 5, 7, or 9. Staff atentative food piping hot delicious.

We had our annual Royal Canal Charity walk. 
We finished at the 12th Lock.
The staff were very helpful to us.
Organized 2 rooms for our walkers could freshen up.
We had a room to ourselves for food and drinks. 
It was the best experience I,ve had since all the covid restrictions. 
The food was excellent and served very efficiently. 
We,ve being doing this walks since 2012 , this was the best welcome we have had among all the places we have stopped off.

What can I say. Amazing. Had burger and chips for lunch, fish and chips for evening meal and cannot fault anything about the food. Burger was so tasty and flavourful. Fish was as good as I have had ( and I have travelled the length of Ireland). The service was immaculate. In particular sky, sunny, Ronaldo and ibeth are a credit to the business. Great room. Very clean and even a nice little Coffee machine in the room. Really on top of the COVID 19 measures also. Never felt at risk at all. On the whole a fantastic experience. Rebooking now for a few nights for Christmas shopping Later in the year.

I stay here for work regularly and all I can say is I will always stay here when in Dublin .

This pub is a great stop if your walking the canals of Dublin or just looking for a quiet pint and some good tasting food .
Location is quiet and secluded with nice views of the canal .
It’s also a hotel and has great access to the city by train station maybe 10 mins walk away 

After an enlivening walk by the lovely canal we adjourned for well deserved sustenance. Here was ideal.

From the lunch and specials we decided on tasty offerings, which all arrived without delay. Sharing desserts, with coffees and cappuccino, everything was delicious.

It’s a cosy dining room, attractively and brightly furnished. Staff could not have been more helpful, from welcoming warmly to attentively seeing to our every need.

I ate a luscious Huevos a la ranchera (good price). The handsome Spanish manager was really kind and he had one of the most wonderfully blue eyes I've ever seen. The location is lovely, next to the canal.

We enjoyed a lovely meal at 12th Lock restaurant. The lamb shank special was fabulous, good sized portion and well presented. The staff were very nice and the chef was very kind and attentive when we mentioned it was a birthday celebration. Looking forward to returning for another super meal.

Restaurant

I chose this hotel as it was close to the business I was meeting with, but the next time I'd rather use public transport. This place was dirty, loud (next to the railway, with trains from 5am to 11pm), dark and expensive, even per Dublin standards. The website mentioned a restaurant, but it was closed. Absolutely sub-par experience, avoid at all cost!

Dirty and loud

This was a disappointing stay. The rooms are comfortable but need maintenance. Broken glass top, stains dripping from ceiling hatch, broken coffee machine fridge not working.
The rooms are at basement level just below the fairly busy railway line. The only ventilation is via the windows so they have to left open. The restaurant is shut so no breakfast and no opportunity to enjoy the canal side setting. No good if you cannot manage steps up from car park and then back down to the room.
Coffee and tea but no milk provided in the room and one very small and one large cup - not ideal for two people!
Good points comfortable bed and close to station along the unlit towpath.

Disappointing - could easily be much better

Booked partly for location, the boutique description, and the tapas restaurant. On arrival, it turned out that the bistro and restaurant were closed. My room was in the basement with no natural light and the worst view - see photo. It is close to some decent places to eat and the staff were very helpful. The rooms aren’t quiet as the railway line runs right next to the hotel. The room was also rather unclean although there were Molten Brown toiletries in the bathroom. Not a place I’d return to.

No Catering available and nearest food location is 15mins walk away.

Reception  staff were very pleasant but when  I asked for a hair drier I was told 2hours before  Receptionist  could access one. She didn't seem  concerned that this was very unusual. As I waited for a taxi.an hour later another resident also asked for a hair drier and was similarly told it would a 2 hour wait

Not good enough for 190euros per night and gives Dublin as a visitor location a poor reputation.
Not good enough....so disappointing.

12th Lock Dublin

My husband booked us into this hotel for 2 nights as a treat/getaway for me after a traumatic month. The location was perfect... that is, if you get a room facing the canal. However, we were given a rear facing room.  There was no air conditioning in the room, despite them advertising that there was. We had to open the windows to get some air flow. To our dismay our room was about 2m from the train track with trains running regularly. It was loud and ran late into the night. When we mentioned this to reception she said that no-one had ever complained before and that the trains would stop soon?? We asked to book into the restaurant, but were told it was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Another thing that is not mentioned on their homepage or website. There were no bathrobes or slippers in the room either! The only plus, was a kingsize bed in the room!! 

Very disappointing for the price paid. !!! Below are photos of our view and the train proximity.

Not as advertised

The rooms were tiny and not cheap. The basis was room only, with that in mind you’d expect a few teabags and some milk for a morning cuppa. All that was available was a coffee pods for the machine and two strawberry tea bags!  
The bathroom door handle came off meaning we couldn’t close the door or we’d be locked in. I brought this to reception, hoping for a repair in our absence and requested a few teabags and some clean cups on our return. 
We came back to find the door lock had been sellotaped and someone had dropped in a fistful of teabags onto the counter. 
The cups were still dirty and no one had serviced the room.  
The hotel uses the term “de luxe”. That is inaccurate to say the least.
The hotel is on a downward spiral since I was last there.

Poorly maintained

Never wrote a review before…felt I had to in this case. 
Just finished a two night stay. The place was warm at least….but the concrete wall 8 feet away from my window with trains screeching past was a new experience.
All this could have been forgiven but for the fact that this currently is not a hotel in any real sense. It’s a room only type hostel. Bit tatty and tomb like underground/downstairs rooms. 
I travelled 8 hours and arrived at 9.30 pm to find that there is no restaurant or bar…they are closed!! out into the night then to try and find something to eat….then in the morning no breakfast. So in the wet I set out to find a coffee and scrambled eggs. Thankfully I found a great place 15 mins drive away. 

Feel conned…would never stay here again. 

Never again!! 

I stayed for work.  As I checked in I asked if my room was quiet and was reassured that the 'Trains stop at 11pm', what they didn't tell me was that they start again at 03:45.  My room was about 10ft away from the railway line.  It was very warm and no air conditioning.  I couldn't open the window as I was on the ground floor looking out onto a concrete wall with beer kegs stacked outside.  Along the wall ran motion sensor floodlights which came on periodically throughout the night . I wish I could give a good review, but I left the hotel exhausted.  

The train is so close you can see into the carriages as it thunders by.

We had a horrific experience in room 1204, the room was damp and there was excrement on the sheets and inside the duvet even though the bed was made up and looked ok from outside. We came home late and slept in that bed not realising it until the next morning. When i complained to the manager she said she had checked that room before we checked. Initially we were to check in to room 1207 but when i opened the door it was not cleaned so they moved us to 1204. 

I am still waiting for a refund despite numerous emails and phone calls. The staff were terrible to deal with. I have received no apology or compensation for the experience. 

Also note there was no bar or restaurant facilities even though the hotel website advertises it.
