Our stay in Egali hostel was good, however nothing too special. The rooms were clean, but the facilities and beds are quite old. You will meet a lot of brazilians which is fun. The breakfast is as basic as it gets. I would have wished for non-instant coffee and some fruit options. We had no problems and its nice that you are close to the city center. For the price paid it was a good experience.

Cheap and ok hostel close to city center

Just stayed for 3 nights, there was 8 of us in total so we had 1 dorm for our group.
Our dorm had its own bathroom, which according to my husband was a good things as the shared bathrooms he’d used once or twice weren’t clean. The ensuite in our dorm wasn’t the cleanest. The shower didn’t have temperature control, it was set to to what it was set to. And to get the water to come out you press a button, then the water only stays on for 5 seconds. Making showering somewhat difficult. 
The bedding on the beds was clean, the floor in the dorm was not, very dusty etc.
Windows in the room were very small, and didn’t let in much air. And it was soooo hot! 
Communal kitchen area seemed ok but didn’t spend much time down there.
Other guests were really noisy in the early hours of the morning, and we weren’t in bed early. Running around the dorms, shouting, banging. Made it difficult to sleep on our last night. And there are signs up requesting quiet after 10pm, which clearly are ignored.
Overall our stay was Ok and it served a purpose for us, somewhere to sleep and shower, it was close to where we wanted to be and cheaper than any of the hotels in the vicinity. We paid €75pp for 3 nights. 

It’s Ok

We only stayed one night. Everything was as expected by a hostel. They had a strict baggage policy,marking every bag they kept in their luggage room and having you sign for it, which made me feel safer about my belongings.

I reserved a bed for Friday to Tuesday.
Confirmation was sent from booking.com
Then I sent an email asking if I could check in earlier.
The hostel directly replied detailing check in was after 3....no problem.
To then receive an email less than 26 hours before arrival that the hostel is full and my reservation is cancelled.
I just spoke with Lucas who tried his best to cover his tracks and basically put the blame on booking.com for double reserving the bed.
I am now one day before arrival frantically searching for a new hostel that can accommodate me!
Shocking service. 
Shocking telephone manner.
Shocking place.
Never will I recommend a place that leaves you hanging less than a day before arrival!

Let down last min!

I had planned to go Dublin on Saturday night 14th Sept. I phoned Egali on Thursday night 12th Sept and the girl told me they don't take online bookings or bookings over phone. I offered to pay upfront via card. They only take bookings on the actual day physically in person and in cash. Is this business for real??? The girl on the phone assured me I would have no problems getting a bed if I came to the hostel at 3pm on Sat. I actually thought this sounded so strange that I called on Friday morning to check their booking policy. Once again I was told the same story and I asked the girl to take a note of my name. I arrived to the hostel around 2.30pm to be told no bookings could be made as no beds left. The attitude was 'computer says no' and I was left baffled at there booking system. Does people all queue up at 8am each morning to ensure they get a bed here......I highly doubt so. Due to the all ireland there wasnt a single bed in Dublin for the night hence I was left homeless for the night. Avoid avoid avoid!!!!

I suppose it is a good value stay for its location and price, but the facilities are really bad.
WiFi doesn't work on the rooms very well (room B), the kitchen utensils are a shambles, and the kitchen is tiny for all the guests around. 
There were only 2 showers to share for all the females and males (females had an extra room too) and the toilets were always dirty and badly maintained. 
The hostel is run by a company who does exchanges with brazilian students, so 90% of the guests are brazilian, in their own groups and not very sociable.
Breakfast was overly simplistic and did not offer much, but at least it was there.

I would not come again and I would not recommend this place. I rather pay 2-3 pounds more for the next option.

Cheap yes, good no.

Didnt get a warm welcome was busy but not enough staff on. Could hear people running around the room all morning didnt sleep.

Trapped my finger in metal under bed storage ,spent 2 days going to hospital and stayed off work. Had to get needles in my nail to help remove from the bruising and blood.
