Luckily we only stayed here for one night. 
The place has potential to be cosy, as the surroundings could be nice if they’d been maintained better. 
The room however smelled like old smoke, it was NOT clean - the sheets and towels were clean - but there were black and brown marks all over the walls, one wall even had a black mark clearly showing a foot… disgusting. 
The curtains were stained and everything was just old, not maintained and unclean… 
We recieved no information upon arrival about breakfast or where to find pool etc. so service wasn’t great either….

Not clean

I am a travel agent, I put 8 persons in this hotel for 1 night they complained - I went there and took these photos myself, I asked for the money back on behalf of the guests, they refused- what to say needs serious maintenance and deep cleaning they just don't get it!!  This is not the first report of this kind- stay away until it is cleaned!!

Room inspection failed

Miserable weather, broken glass on the beach and a house dog that scratched me, I deserted Bunaken Island for Manado to get treatment and used the stairway up to the swimming pool for exercise. I was offered a weekly and monthly rate for my long stay as I awaited returning to Malaysia where I live.

The staff and service are wonderful. The economy room does not have windows, but I stayed for 2 weeks at a time.

Hotel is in strategic location, the environment is great but once you enter the room everything changes.
Room is very dirty, all toilet area are yelowish, lots of stain in bathroom mirror, lots of ants and mosquitos.
I tried to complaint to front desk but they said that the ants and mosquitos inside the room is normal at their open boutique hotel. The telephone at the room is not working so i have to use my mobile to contact reservation. 

Most of the staff has poor attitude, lots of school trainee that obviously NOT being train well by the staff but seems they just using them.

For me the number one problem of this hotel is poor Team Member Attitude and Management Leadership  and it is affecting the whole hotel operations especially CLEANLINESS. 

Cleaning the rooms is easy and not expensive all you need is team work, attention to details and daily monitoring. 

I dont hate the hotel and the team, this is just another form of love which is caring, I care so that i complained.

Hope this message will reach the Management Team and Hotel Owner, because I believe Hotel Minahasa has great potential if you guys can manage it well.

Great Hotel, Poor Maintenance and Service

This is a unique style hotel placed on a hill so you will need to walk some stairs.  The pool was being renovated I just wish they would have told us when booking. The rooms need some help too. The good. Very nice staff. The hotel is clean but old. They changed our towels and gave us fresh water. The breakfast was different daily. I gave it a 4 star because they are trying to improve but at the moment it is a 3+. It is quiet and close to the main street along the harbour.

this is my first time stay in this hotel, but the first impression was not good, the receptionist is not polite talk with people, i called to asked my bill he said that its only receipt was given to me, but i need a print bill, the points is he talk to me ' i am busy still have lot of job , OMG!! are you hotelier? hotelier gratitude very poor !! not appropriate to work as receptionist. hope the management can fix and do traine to the staff, this is not good for the hotel performance and wil impact negatively.  i will strong recomended to my colleuge to not staying in this hotel.

Receptionist Poor service

Stayed 2 nights here with a group of friends but had a twin share room and my first impression was that this place looks a little luxurious and with nice ambient compared to the other hotels but when I first stepped into the room,it felt like it’s not properly clean and not well prepared. However,the service and breakfast made it up for it!

Rooms: 
Pros - Spacious room and bathroom. They even have a little balcony outside. It’s also much quieter even though it’s located close to the Main Street of Manado.

Cons - it’s a little run down and you have to climb a flight of stairs to get to your room.

Location wise: EXCELLENT! Indomart is right opposite if you need anything and food wise is all walking distance.

Service: EXCELLENT! Really fast service and friendly + helpful staffs.

Breakfast: Great breakfast with quite some variety of food.

No airport transfer provided but you can still arrange it with them with a price for 150,000 IDR.

Overall,I would say this is one of the best hotel for its price. However,it’s such a waste that it’s not well maintained cause this can really be an awesome hotel in Manado with so much potential.



Great location & Affordable! 

Hotel Minahasa is a small boutique hotel and has a unique Old Dutch character and distinguishes itself from other hotels in the surrounding neighbourhood. The people are very friendly and warm and they speak well English. If you need an airport transfer, please let them know in advance. They will charge you a small amount and the driver is very kind and dedicated, much more convenient than an airport cab, trust me ;-) It may need some renovation in some rooms, however from a price perspective this is by far the best deal you can get. Breakfast is typically Indonesian with a western twist, lovely and very tasty. Their nasi goreng is the best you can get, you won’t get it like this anywhere else in Indonesia. For me; this hotel is absolutely my home, far away from home...

The hotel is located in the middle of the city, a 7 minute walk to the shopping centers of Manado (a taxi takes much longer, but sometimes better... rather than walking in the heat). Restaurants are in the near neigbourhood, across the street; Green Garden for example. Manado is known for its food, so apart from the traditional Minahasa specialties, you also have a great offering in Thai food, Sushi, Korean BBQ and obviously Western food; for a great steak with french fries, visit Fourpoints with a great view on Manado Tua as well. 

The hotel works with a local tourguide (Mr. Eddy Sunardi) who can take you on a private tour to Lembeh and/or Bunaken Island for diving / snorkeling. Eddie speaks extremely well English and some Dutch. We’ve also had a great experience in white water rafting, if you are looking for some adventure, this is truly it! This guy knows the area and goes the extra mile!

The Minahasa covers everything that Indonesia has to offer; sun, sea, vulcanos, mountains, great food and above all a memorable holiday to cherish for the rest of your life.

Calmness in a Turbulent City

I do really like the view from the top of this hotel.
Good value of money.
Even they dont have elevator, the bell boy help us to reach our room.
I like the ambience, green atmosphere.
View from the pool is nice!
Also the breakfast, simple but it is match to the price we paid.
Located in the heart of manado town, easy to find convenience store & restaurant.
