Bruce's Hideout Lombok

I was in Lombok twice over the past month and stayed at Bruce's Hideout both times because I wanted to be in Gerupuk to surf and relax. The first time I stayed, I was in a flat perched on the hillside above the beach. It was a 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom flat with a kitchen and had a beautiful view of Gerupuk Bay and the mountains across the bay. The second time, I stayed in the cottage on the beach. It had the same amenities as the flat on the hillside, but it was right on the beach. The view is looking the same direction, which is to the east, so you get amazing sunrises. During sunset, it's very peaceful and the brightness is not overwhelming because the sun is behind you. My favorite spot was to chill in the hammock and listen to the ocean. During really high-tides, the water comes all the way up to the sea wall and you feel like you're on a boat. Not something you get to experience too often. One of the big pluses that I really appreciated about Bruce's place is they supply clean water and coffee in the rooms. They also stock the fridge with beers that you can pay for at the end of your stay. The coffee and water are free though.
