Sitting in Delhi called Athira to inform that my aged parents are visiting and to take good care of them. They went out of the way to make my parents stay comfortable and took good care of them. Really appreciate their dedicated and friendly service. My parents spent their 60th wedding Anniversary on May 23rd (yesterday) visiting nearby temples and the really glad they chose Athira.

We booked Athira originally for two nights but extended to four. 

The room was immaculately clean and very well presented and definitely big enough for the two of us. The bathroom was also clean and tidy and the soap they gave us smelt good enough to eat. 

The service was great and really friendly and the place very affordable. 

Location wise, it's quite quiet but only a couple of minutes walk to the beach and very near to some great places to eat. We enjoyed hanging out at surf and soul just down the road 

Thoroughly recommend 

We booked 7 days at Athira Gardens found it suited us well and stayed on for 17 days. Located in the quieter South Cliff area it is convenient for the beach and restaurants and Papanasam beach. Manager and staff are friendly and helpful. We had a bedroom  on the ground floor - not fancy but a reasonable size and with a fan, air-conditioning and an attached bathroom (and a TV we did not use). There is a shared lounge area - and also one on the first floor. We felt secure and comfortable  and the cost was very reasonable.

Clean and lovely 

Comfortable, friendly and well located guesthouse.

We took 2 broom apartment with a/c. A/c is noisy and doesn't cool. No hot water in 1 bedroom, the lock in the apartment door broken, so we didn't lock it when away. It is very noisy and we had to sleep with ear plugs. It is quite far from north cliff and beach where all actions/cafes are  unless you take tuk-tuk, which cost 100-150 rupees. Also owner is dishonest and charged us for the day we didn't stay just because it was booked.

I chose Athria Gardens off the back of the reviews it had received. However to my surprise I wasn’t overly impressed. The room didn’t seem to have been cleaned throughly. It had a cockroach in the cupboard and many friendly lizards accompanying us. And the blanket left for us to use hadn’t been washed and smelt musty. 

The room itself was ok- it has a double bed and a television (once we asked for one as there wasn’t one like the booking suggested) and there was air con available but at an extra cost (my fault as I didn’t read that on the ad). 
We were the only people staying here from what I could see, probably due to the season time so maybe that explains why there were some mishaps in cleanliness. 
But overall for the price it is useable and I’m sure this was a one off experience. 

The host was friendly and accommodating and able to provide us with taxi services and a service to Kollam too!
