Amban Heritage

We stayed at Amban Heritage for 2 nights and wanted to stay longer. A beautiful heritage home, which transported us back in time. Our hosts Susheel Uncle and Sudha Aunty made us feel at home, prepared deliciuos local delicacies and took great care of us and our two children.

A must on one's list of places to stay when visiting Kannur. To experience Amban Heritage, it is even worth a detour!

We have the best of memories of our stay at Amban Heritage for 3 days/nights in October. The property is a heritage structure which has been restored with all modern amenities, has space for parking your vehicle, is maintained pristinely clean and surrounded by lush greenery. Despite not being beach-side, its location on the Airport Road is easily accessed from the city and convenient if you’re planning to go further south to Thallaseri and Kozhikode. Our hosts Sudha, Susheel and family were always available, responsive and helped us in locating our wish list of things to do in Kannur. But would also recommend the place to anyone who would just like to unwind and stay put in a very authentic traditional house and of course enjoy the local cuisine made by Sudha who is an amazing chef! We are extremely happy and thank our hosts for a memorable stay!

I dont need any incentives to go back to Amban Heritage Kannur--the warm and affectionate hosts Sudha and Sushil give us reasons enough! Their beautiful home is spic and span as before and I really enjoy the food, something I look forward to. I also look forward to our conversation with the host, always learn something new, especially as I love growing food too. 
Cant wait to return to Kannur to Amban Heritage. Its located bang on the Kannur Mattanur airport road and is so easy to reach.

While scouting for accommodation in Kannur, I fell for Amban heritage looking at the property photos. It is a century old elegant house surrounded by tropical fruit trees. Two of the rooms have been set aside for guests. The rooms and attached bathrooms are spotlessly clean. The owners are pleasant to talk to, and ensure you are well looked after. Breakfast is included in the room price, and I had a different local dish for each day of my stay! Lunch and dinner are arranged upon prior request. I would strongly suggest you have at least a couple of meals here. Most of the ingredients are locally sourced from their garden. Their great food is actually reason enough to choose this place! The owners arranged visits to Theyyam for me, and their son came along with me each time. Amban Heritage has been the perfect host. Goes without saying, I'll choose to stay here if I am visiting these parts.

Amban Heritage is a well maintained heritage home offered for home stay. Though the house is said to be build in 1904, the entire place is renovated with modern facilities keeping intact the traditional values. The house offer 4 bedrooms for rent, two with air-conditioners and others with coolers and fans. The room tariff is inclusive of breakfast. They offer traditional Kerala breakfast prepared in house. The place is on the kannur - Mattanur airport road near to the kannur town and is centrally placed in the middle of a plot full of greenery around. Though the rooms are small, they are done well, neatly maintained. The wahsrooms are provided with basic toileteries and bath towels. Facility for ironing, drinking water and cooking is also available.
Comating the room tariff of luxury hotels in Kannur, this place is cheaper and homely. The place also has ample parking space.
They also prepare lunch and dinner on request. We were there for a day and were served nicely prepared dhum biriyani for lunch. Would definitely revisit this place.

We stayed at Amban for two nights. We had a toddler with us. The hosts were really nice and welcoming. The caretaker was equally nice. They all took turns to cook delicious local food for us. They were all very soft spoken and took care of all our needs. They were also very quick in responding to our queries. It was a pleasure staying at Amban heritage.

Refreshing,The ambience was rejuvenating. We are so thankful for the delicious mouth watering food. Care taker was nice and the food she prepared gave us a homely feeling.Staying at a traditional home like Amban Heritage is a different experience.
