Lovely safari resort in the reserve about 20 minutes drive from where all the jeeps/vehicles start from.  The staff, bedrooms, food, extra activities were all excellent - couldn't fault anyone.  Even the resident dogs were a lovely bonus.
Only comment would be that you had to request a hairdryer if you wanted one, which was provided, but with not too many rooms on the resort it would be easier to provide a hairdryer for each room rather than guests having to request one.
I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone and their staff were all excellent.  We had a wonderful stay.  Make sure you have some warm clothing for the early game drives or boat rides as it's v windy and cold until later in the day.  The afternoon drives are much warmer.

We had a 2 night stay in one of the tents, it was definitely luxurious, the bed was very comfortable and the tent was really clean. The food was so tasty and plentiful, the chef was always checking that everything was as we wanted. The resort itself is very quiet and has a pool and lots of others things to do, there is a viewing deck, which is worth sitting in and relaxing. The staff were on hand for anything and were very helpful, courteous and professional. The safari's arranged from here were amazing, we felt really looked after and special, the whole time we were here and would love to return.

The staff including Stevie and Toto the dogs were outstanding in every way. The food, service and nature experience were second to none. The architectural detail was exceptional.

We lived every minute of our time there.

Kaav an exquisite and  well maintained property. 
It's not only a great weekend getaway, but will serve well for a staycation as it's really peaceful, serene and cosy.
The food is excellent and the staff is really humble, helpful and understanding.
The rooms are quite comfortable and the decor is tasteful.
There are a few sight seeing places nearby from Kaav that's a great way to spend the evening, One can cover these by foot or by the bike provided by Kaav.

I don't usually take the time to pen down reviews but this time I simply had to.  This place takes the cake. Not only were they able to cater to my mad hatter family but they went the extra mile in every way possible to ensure we had the best getaway. Vaanya and Sujeeth were superb hosts. S really knows his stuff when it comes to the wildlife in Kabini and is just a treasure trove of knowledge. The food was absolutely delicious. The chefs and Vaanya made some of the tastiest desserts and the pizza and khao suey were lip smacking. Suffice it to say we had an incredible time at Kaav and will definitely come back again. 

P.S. how could we forget dogs! Stevie my man. Such a gentle, lovely boy and the ever so naughty Toto, too!

Just one of the loveliest places I've stayed for a long time. Very small and intimate, with just two super-comfortable ac tents, four bedrooms and a one-bedroom villa. They have cleverly balanced simplicity with luxury and show just how top-quality service should be done. Nothing was too much trouble, everyone made us feel so special, in a friendly and interested way. Divya and her team are wonderful. The food is designed to suit your tastes and requirements and is varied and delicious. Their safaris are well organised and Nagarhole reserve has a growing tiger poplulation and there is a good chance of seeing tigers, leopards, elephants as well as many birds and deer. The boat safari on the Kabini river is also good, and we saw osprey, otters etc. The tiny safari at night was fascinating, finding spiders and insects in the trees around the restaurant. Don't look anywhere else on Kabini, just go for this, you won't regret it!

It felt like I am visiting my mother's place.  Really, you know what.. food and  ambience can be good anywhere but this place is blessed with super powerful positive energy that will seap in soul quietly! You just have to be ready to be receive it. We did...and it was something. 
Even the quietness of this place was  giving!

Had an excellent stay. Food was customised, simple but good. Facilities were wonderful. Enjoyed the observation deck. Divya was very helpful, always responded with a smile and guided us to the location as we were travelling from Mysore. Sujeet the naturist was our lucky charm as we ended by sighting tigers on our safaris trips…he is very experienced and also lead us on tiny safari within the property…

Would have given 6 stars if we could. We don’t think we have ever stayed anywhere with

We stayed at Kaav for the second time last week. Since we were not able to visit the Nagarhole Forest for the last two years because of Covid. Our first stay here in Kaav had been very enjoyable and this time too it was really wonderful. Its a small property with just six rooms, so its quiet and peaceful disturbed only by the sounds of the jungle that it abuts. Its green and well maintained. The staff are excellent. Food is also very good and one must compliment the chef for such well chosen menus. Divya was very helpful. It was Sujith, the naturalist on the property who accompanies you on the visit to the forests, who really made our stay. He is knowledgeable about the jungle, has excellent spotting skills, knows animal behavior and is persevering in ensuring one has a really exciting jungle safari. He also conducts a Tiny safari within the property to acquaint guests with different varieties of spiders. This was quite unique and interesting. Would strongly recommend Kaav to those visiting Nagarhole Forest. Or even if one is not visiting the forest it is a lovely place to relax in.

Wow, wow, wow!!! What an experience.. Kaav is the heart of Kabini in true sense. The property is a small boutique property with just 6 rooms, which means you have your own calm in every corner of the resort.
We stayed in the tent and it was an experience in its own. The room was spic and span. Every basic essential was provided.. the bathtub added to the aesthetics of the room. Direct view to the forest within few meters from the room was the highlight.. 
DIVYA!! Well she is the shining star of Kaav. She was constantly in touch with us right from the time we booked the resort. Always running on her toes and trying her best to fulfil every smallest demand. She definitely made our stay super comfortable and relaxing. She was always ready to politely answer every doubt and has abundant knowledge of wildlife in and around the resort. We kept nagging her to join us on a Safari and she did and provided abundant information of the reserve and wildlife therein. 
The resort offers all inclusive plan which meant all meals were included. But the resort staff didnt limit to just that. They were always happy to serve additional beverages/ fruits and snacks whenever we asked for at no added costs. The food was amazing though the variety was tad limited and became repetitive.  Since we were celebrating our anniversary, the staff made special arrangements for breakfast and the cake was a delish. 
Coming to the staff. Every member of the 16 person team is amazing. They are always there to help with a smile and have a warm behaviour always. We had a mouse visiting our room at 2am and Divya and the staff were just super helpful escorting him out even in middle of the night.
We would want to thank Divya, Sujeet and every member of the staff to help us through our stay and make it a memorable one.

HEART OF KABINI

I would say that the architecture of KAAV is one of its impressive qualities - my husband and I stayed in the DEER room and from the oxide walls to the horizontal mirrored wall in the bathroom, from the statement mirror with a matte gold back to the wide shelves everywhere and all around the room, there were thoughtful touches that were a delight to discover and appreciate. The room is spacious and we never ran out of room to place our 'stuff'. In addition, there's a large balcony with seating to contemplate the forest right outside the property. 

Another feature that is very attractive at KAAV are the common areas - be it the large living area in the center, with another spacious balcony, the covered viewing deck on the topmost floor with a very large sofa or bed, the open-air pavilion on the ground floor, or the pool area. We never felt confined because of these other spaces to hang out in. KAAV is a small place with only 6 rooms and we loved that. We also spent 1 night in the tent and it is luxurious, with a bathtub. It does get hot in the tent so you need to keep the AC going, which means you can't have the netted walls open to let in a lot of light. 

The 4 feet deep pool is wonderful to plunge into from time to time, especially after getting hot and sweaty. The meals are all included with your stay and the food is everyday fare, with multiple courses, from soup to dessert. 

But all of this is typical at an exclusive resort and what sets KAAV apart is the hospitality and caring of the staff, from Divya to Jagadeesh, who served us our meals, from Sharat to Sujit, the naturalist. Each of them made sure, everyday, that all our needs were met, looking after us like one would take care of guests at home. 
Make sure to explore all the activities - we went kayaking and coracling, as well as the bicycling to the river bank. We went on a land safari with Sujit and he made it a rich and memorable experience. KAAV helps you book all your safaris in Nagarhole. 

KAAV packed us dinner since we had to leave around 7pm to catch a train from Mysore, and their messages on the meal boxes brought smiles on our lips. 

I was disappointed to not find organic eggs at such a high-end resort. One suggestion is for KAAV to expand meals to include some non-Indian items such as hummus and veggies, or falafel or mixed greens salads. More variety in meals can also be brought about by adding millet-based or other kinds of rice based items, and non-dairy items which are more easily available and common these days. 

We look forward to returning to KAAV very soon!
