We have visited as a group of staffs last year.The owner of the place was so caring and he arranged camp fire in the evening.The food we ordered were prepared fresh and tasty.Our staffs enjoyed the stay.The rooms have good air conditioning. I recommend the place to all guests.

Planned for a sudden trip to Valparai with family. Since we were 2 adults and 4 kids, it was difficult to find a good and economical hotel in Valparai or in Pollachi in a short time. After reading some reviews decided to book at Royal cottage (with a doubt) for 2 nights. For first day night 4 bed room was not available, hence Mr Mansoor gave 2 rooms and promised to give a 4 beded room for the second night. On arrival we were surprised to see the cottage. It was simple. You dont see a reception, but we were warmly welcomed by the brothers who own this cottage. First thing I cheked in the rooms were the bed sheets and bathroom (due to some bad experiences in the past). Bed Sheets, pillow covers and bathroom were spotless. They have a small kitchen and simple restaurant and you get simple tasty food.  You wont find jazzy things in the room. But this will be offset by neatness and cleanliness of the rooms and most of all the guidance from the brothers. Mr. Mansoor guided us on locations to visit at Valparai especially the time to start, route, conditions  of the roads. If you plan to stay here better get the tour guidance from the brothers in advance. It was a great experience. We had stayed in 3 hotels in different places during a week long trip and this place was the best. If you look for a clean and simple place for your family this can be one choice.

One of the safe hygienic and calm place to hang out happily with your family. The staffs are humble and well mannered. The reception was good. The interiors and infra reminds you your old granny’s home back in village. I recommend Royal Cottage.

I visited royal cottage in February 2018 along with a friend as his recommendation as a part of our south-india motorcycle ride.
Room size was decent, too big shower rooms. Amenities would be less but probably staff can help you if asked.
Old construction but okay maintenance.
Helpful but laid-back staff. Little but walkable away from main city but no regrets. 
Parking for multiple cars could be an issue but our motorcycles found a spot opposite the lobby thanks to the understanding management 😊

Decent place, good pricing.

Trip to Valparai

Simplicity at its best.

COZY AND NEAT

We stayed for 2 nights. A good place to stay. Only 2 disappointments: 1. The mattress and bedsheets needed change. Luckily we carried our own bedsheets n pillows. 2. No in-house kitchen or catering. This is much needed considering no decent place to sit n eat outside.

The hospitality was good and they volunteered to wash my car too. I thank them for that

Only few rooms. Rooms don't feel like hotel, but like visiting a friends home. Though congested, secured parking available. No toiletries. For extra bed, cot is not available. Also, linen is again residential type. Room that we stayed not ideal for people above 6 ft as bathroom doesnt have enough height. Toilet too, like a hotel. Drinking water is available through RO. 1 bottle is available as complimentary.
Bad thing : they dont have 24 hr check in - checkout.
Suggested: bachelors, senior citizens group.
