Langavatn Guesthouse

We just fell in love with this place. In the middle of nowhere, so you have to drive a long way to Husavik or Myvatn, but everything else was just fantastic. The room was clean and compact, but we could fit everything in. Bathrooms were clean and the shower worked nicely. Best thing was the very pleasent people owning the place. They made the breakfast and dinner (19-20:30 by request, so remember to ask for it) for us. Breakfast was included and the beer and soda from the bar and dinner was super cheap, because they wanted to keep everything affordable. I chatted with the owner for a good while and he was super nice and helpful. The surroundings were really nice, great views of Langavatn lake and the hills, lot of sheep were wandering around eating (just like all over Iceland) and you can fish in the lake if you want. Wifi was fast, which was important because the cellular network was not stellar here. If you drive from the south, prepare for nice rollercoaster ride in the newly made road!
