Location was great  for walking to the local markets, zoo, cricket ground, and banks. etc.  If you have bad knees, this is not the place for you, as two long flight of stairs greets you as you unlock the gate.  We unfortunately went at the wrong time, as all upgrades were being done during our stay. We had wifi and TV for a third of our stay. Free breakfast was always cold but there was a microwave on the premises. Small room but for the price I cannot complain much.  The staff was the best, always smiling and willing to help with anything you needed. Many times there was always a staff member on site until after 10:30 at night. For a mere $5 you can have your clothes wash.  I will re-visited once all the kinks are ironed out

I stayed 2 nights alone in the hotel.Not even staff stayed there! The front door was obviously locked.I had the key...
As a high level street crime town ,I was robbed by 2 black men on a motorbike close to the hotel.It was 7.45 pm and i was coming from a dinner in a nearby local restaurant 1 block from the hotel in the same street.Probably the problem started there once they asked me if i was staying at Kanhai´s Center...I saw a phone call but found it natural...

The manager is very helpfull and can arrange airport transfers you can trust.

When I made my reservation, it was created an automatically payment, so then, I stayed at the hotel, I paid my bill normally and now, I cannot get the refund of that reservation money because nobody solves my problem. I called the hotel so many times, I sent email and I still have this problem, in other words, I will have to pay twice. For me, it is really disrespectful. The only thing I can say that is good at this hotel, is the attention of those guys who talked when I arrived and when I left, they are good employees.

Problem!

Arrived Sunday shortly after 10. am. as previously arranged with hotel owner, building looks abandoned, sign said ring bell for access but bell did not work. After 30 minutes I attracted a hotel guest on the 4th. floor balcony who contacted a member of the hotel staff. The lady was very courteous. She stated the bell was out of order and no other staff member was available until 11.00 am.
The stairway was 4 floors high, extremely dangerous to haul suitcase to room, no elevator, or hot water, room dirty. Building looks like a fire trap. I Stayed elsewhere for the same price.

Misleading advertisement, biggest farse in Guyana.

What I would tell people, is to look elsewhere. Nearly everything they hype on their website is not here. It would take little to get this place to be acceptable, but miserly owners are happy to burn bridges behind each guest. They are operating with a skeleton crew that has to work at other locations part of thevery day. There is no tour desk, resulting in a wasted trip for me. There are not even flyers or brochures on hand, other than one that reminds you to use a condom. Really? I am wondering why people come here. My bathroom sink has a leaky faucet, so water needs to be shut off below the sink. Failure to do so results in a wet floor. WiFi works, my bed is ok, and the a/c is good. They have a good cook, but she's here only during the morning. Breakfast is the most basic I have encountered in South America. For the last two days, there wasn't even coffee. This morning there were five new guest, visitors from Cuba. They were shocked. Went to my room to get my own Nestle instant coffee and shared it with the Cubans as well as some organic lettuce that I had bought yesterday to make the toasted bread with a thin slice of cheese a little more palpable. At least yesterday breakfast consisted of scambled eggs and a fresh baked bun, but nothing else. The desk clerk is as frustrated as the clients, because she has to deal with all of the complaints - between jobs.
