Blue Mayan Hotel

I go to Guatemala fairly often and I have been to Panajachel many times. Blue Mayan Hotel is a great place to stay. As another reviewer stated, it is a home away from home. I stayed here once before and it was a nice stay. This was my second time here and it was better than the first. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The restaurant at the hotel is quite good and the restaurant service is better than what I typically see at home. The location is very good. It is a little ways off the main street so you don't get the noise but it is close enough to walk to anything in town. The municipal docks (where the public boats / water taxis are) are a short walk away. Personally, I am fascinated with the Mayan history and culture. So for me, the museum they have there is of great interest. When I would have some time at the hotel when I wasn't doing anything, I often found myself looking at the artifacts and reading on some of the history. All in all, this is a very relaxing place to stay and a great value for the price.
