We stayed three days at El Delfin and enjoyed every single one very much. The place is located right at the beach, has a nice beach front restaurant, plenty of shower facilities, a large pool, pool bar, hammocks and many friendly and helpful people around. Arriving after a 5h shuttle drive from Antigua, we were surprised on a german fellow living and working here for many years. The beach front is nice although the black, volcanic sand is extremely hot in bright sunshine. A night tour to watch and search for sea turtles is easily arranged throught the hotel, although other "guides" are present all day. The village is small but nice and the shuttle boats at the muelle provide a pleasant half day trip going to La Avellina and back. Sipping a beer at La Avellina and watching the loading and unloading of cars, trucks, motorbikes and people on the barges is quite entertaining. The tortugario at Monterrico is a nothe nice place to visit and see loads of tropic animals - except sea turtles.
