Excellent experience ! Great people and great place. Highly recommended

Super helpful and friendly staff, clean, great location.

It’s located a bit far from the airport but they provide free shuttle service to coordinate with your flights and if you book tours with them, they also offer free pick up so you don’t need to worry about the location being distant. The room is spacious and clean. Shared toilet/shower room is also clean all the time with dry area to hang your clothes and stuffs. They also offer free breakfast which is sufficient to start your day. There is also souvenirs shop at the reception in case you would like to have some gifts. Staffs were helpful and friendly. Bonus point is that this place is perfect for you if you want to see Northern Light because it’s far from town and air pollution. There is no guarantee but for me I would love to have a higher chance. To me this place is perfect for my stay in Kangerlussuaq, definitely will stay here again on my next visit :)

Old Camp is exactly as it describes itself: basic shared facilities in a spectacular setting. The rooms are functional and very clean. The shared areas are useful and comfortable. The staff is outstanding! There is regular transportation to the other end of town, but the walk is easy, peaceful, and lovely. And even though Kangerlussuaq is small, staying in Old Camp feels more like getting out into the country.

We get free upgrade to hotel Kangerlussuaq, just inside the airport, but have to carried luggage up and down for check.in/check-out and to the room. The room is very small but comfortable. We managed to capture northern light just outside the hotel.

Old Camp is perfect if you just need a place to crash between hiking and excursions or as a base camp before backpacking. Small simple rooms, and it’s a hostel so bathrooms and kitchen space are shared. We rarely had to wait for bathrooms/showers, except one morning when our building ran out of water so we had to go next door while they refilled the tank. Breakfast is simple but reliable. Like most places in Greenland, the host is there during daytime hours only, so if you need things after hours it can be a little tricky, but they have helpful phone numbers listed in the common area.The person at reception was extremely helpful and accommodating. We had to change plans last minute, and she was able to help with changing both our hostel reservation and our activity reservation with Albatros. You can easily walk between Old Camp and the airport, though it would be a little challenging with bags. We opted for the city bus which goes to Old Camp once per hour.

Only used as a base for stays outside but it served its purpose quite well. Bit far "out of town" but then nothing is really far so that isn't really a problem.Arguably it is a bit basic here but it does not pretend to be anything other than that and if you come to Greenland expecting different things then you are probably not being realistic.

Good

Pick up from the airport is great. Old Camp was a base during WWII so think of long buildings with multiple rooms. The rooms are small, but it is a hostel after all, open one suitcase at a time. There were enough bathrooms and each is self-contained with lockable doors. Towels are supplied. The kitchen/dining area is very large so we were able to prepare our own dinner. The breakfast is mainly bread, cheese and cereal so no good for my dietary restrictions (no wheat or dairy), but adequate to get most people on their way. If you have time before your drop off at Old Camp there is a decent sized supermarket outside the airport where you can grab a few things. You have to leave by 9:00am in the morning so get your towels and sheets out into the hallway pronto as the cleaners are there already gathering them beforehand. 

Hostel Stayover

This hostel is pretty outdated, but you get a fine place for a night or two in Kangerlussuaq. The walls are thin and you can hear everything that goes on in the corridors and in the nearby rooms. The bathrooms are large but I could have wished for a coat rack or shelf to put my towel and personal things on. Everything was very clean.Breakfast, linens and towels are included.The hostel is placed about 2 km from the airport and there is shuttleservice in the morning.

Simple place for one night

Great cozy lodge with free transportation to and from the airport.   Rooms are small, but very comfortable.  The free breakfast was simple, but delicious.  Services generally good, and they do have a kitchen that you can use to prepare meals, though it is very far from the grocery store, so come prepared.

Great stay!

This is a very basic hotel but considering it is in Greenland at basically an airport town it is very comfortable and clean.  The staff at the registration off was helpful and the  people who drove us to and from our room were friendly.  The water was hot in the shower and it did not run out. There is a light breakfast included.

Agree, Basic but good

Basic lodging, shared bathrooms. But as you spend only few time in the lodge, it is ok. Toilets are unfortunately in the bathroom, should better be separated. Two bathrooms to be shared by 6 rooms (or 12 people). 

Breakfast basic, but more than ok. 

Wifi should be for free. Rather expensive. Better to walk to the Tele-Post office across the street, and buy & subscribe to a local provider. 

Basic but good

Fairly basic, but fits the area. School bus came promptly to pickup on arrival. We were able to catch the city bus back on the hour, to have an early supper at the airport cafeteria. Good food, fair prices. Walked back to Old Camp - only 20 minutes or so. Point 660 tour was a  highlight! Only drawback at Old Camp was that the bathrooms were so far down the hall. Breakfast looked good, but we had elected to stay in bed longer.  Too much looking for Northern Lights, which we saw about 2 am!
