I truly wish I could have stayed longer in Syros and at Villa Selena. Giannis and Vasiliki were wonderful hosts. I had a mix-up with my taxi from the port and they did a great job arranging new transportation for me. When I arrived, Vasiliki warmly greeted me and was so helpful with my luggage (no small feat) and with recommendations for places to dine around the island. The hotel is an old mansion and it is stunning. There are several communal indoor and outdoor spaces where you can people watch, rest, or read. The villa is perfectly located with a short walk to Asteria Beach as well as to the port. My room was small but perfectly appointed. The closet space and clear storage stands helped me keep organized and ensured that I didn't leave anything behind. I loved the window in my room. It looked out towards Ermoupoli and the light was absolutely stunning.Did I mention breakfast? The Villa hosts a lovely and filling breakfast buffet with everything you need to start your day, as well as made-to-order options. It's served on one of the outdoor terraces, which was right near my room. I truly hope to return to Villa Selena on my next stay in Syros!
