Le Grand Blue

The villa is situated at the southwest end of the island on the main drag for ATV’s & coaches dropping off tourists who walk around the coast to the famous Red beach or the other direction to the Archaeological site but don't let that put you off. We would recommend a car even thought there are Tavernas within walking distance. The Villa overlooks a little bay with a short walk for some swimming. The booking was very easy, with a quick response from the owner who answered a couple of questions I had within 48hours. The owner can arrange transport from the airport which we would highly recommend. Before we arrived Dimitria contacted us to ensure our expected time at the Villa, she welcomed us with a big smile and a friendly approach and she ensured we knew everything in order to make our stay comfortable making contact with us half way through our holiday to ensure our comfort and a bottle of complimentary of local wine. The villa offers daily housekeeping with a change of bedding/towels every 3 days, the 2 cleaners were friendly and not entering the villa without checking with you first which was respectful and courteous. The villa furnishings are traditional and functional, the beds comfortable and clean with good pillows. The outside area has a BBQ which we used several times, table and chairs for dinning, a covered pagoda with lounge seats, 2 hammocks and 2 sunbeds. It was hard to pull ourselves away. Akrotiri is a different Santorini experience to the hustle and bustle of Fira, Oia which we visited but we welcomed the return to the tranquillity of the villa. We would recommend 2 adults and 2 children. We will definatley be returning.
