excellent service and hospitality.  They have good food and drinks.  the pool is also very hygienic.  It is an experience you do not want to miss.  I liked the experience so much that I didn't want to leave.  you feel at home❤️😍

Echt leuk !!

We stayed here for 4 nights in June as part of our island hopping trip. Its a great little hotel, basic rooms but they have everything you need and were clean -  the beds were comfortable. Lovely pool/sunbeds and a snack bar which we used every day for breakfast. The location is great, it is about 25min walk into the port, if you want to get a taxi back after dinner then there is a rank by the port. We also walked to the old town a couple of times for dinner (about 15mins) to a local taverna which was lovely and much cheaper than the port restaurants.

Meni and Kostas were wonderful hosts, and we'd definitely stay here again.

Great hospitality

We stayed here for two weeks. Words cannot describe how lovely the family is that runs this place. Despite all the facilities being absolutely wonderful (very nice swimming pool, good sized studios with all the stuff that you need, brilliant location (near pythagorion, the airport and beaches), a lovely poolbar for all your needs), the family itself makes the place a little magical. If you need anything, want to know/do anything or have any question at all; ask it anytime! If they do not have the answer straight away, they will search it out for you. On our last day, the owner even dropped us off at the airport. That being already nice as it is, he even said that "he hoped that we had a lovely holiday", and i felt that one. I could feel that he really meant it. We will definitely come back to this place. Meni, Kostas and your son Anthonis; thank you again for the wonderful last two weeks! Stay safe and strong! :)

This place is amazing!

We travelled here again in June and was surprised to see TV's in the rooms as well as hairdryer, great addition, although we never switched the TV on, hairdryer was most welcome and will save on luggage weight next time we go. 
Also Pool towels are now available, another save on luggage, great idea.
We love this accommodation so much, lovely pool area with snack bar serving breakfast and snacks throughout the day as well as a lovely BBQ once a week and always a nice cold beer on tap, or a huge choice of lovely cocktails.  The owners Meni, Kostas and their son Adonis do a great job, always there to help and give advice, nothing is too much trouble for them. 
This accommodation is great for couples, singles and families, although a 20 minute walk to the beach, it's a nice walk and well worth a visit. 25 minute walk takes you to Pythogorion, with plenty of restaurants, bars and a pretty harbour.
A bus takes you into Samos town, approx 30 minutes journey.
Have already re-booked to go back in September, this place is 5* and 8* for friendlyness.

Nicely refurbished

Fantastic service, friendly people, quiet and beautiful site with good beds at the pool, simpel but cosy and clean room, bed in the room could be better. We will be back next year. In other word very good.

Super, very good

I love being here. The Anthis is so tranquil, in a beautiful setting in the countryside just on the outskirts of Pythagorio. It very much feels like a family home with Kostas and Meni looking after you. You just become part of their family. Very comfortable rooms that retain an Authentic Greek feel. Lovely big pool with comfy sun beds and shade if you want it. I always have breakfast cooked by Meni on the patio terrace with great coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice from their own trees. You can have lunch here too if you want.The studios are set in a convenient location to the beach, just a 10 minute stroll and to the harbour where the lovely restaurants are. Absolutely nothing touristy about this place. Wonderful people, you’ll meet lots of friends and enjoy this special island. It honestly is a home from home.

Simply Gorgeous

We have visited Greece many times before to a wide variety of well loved locations and always look for something that is not "hotel all in" based but allows us to get closer to actual Greek people and their lives. Please bear that in mind when you read this as your taste and needs may not be the same as ours. The Anthis was our first visit to Samos and was a last minute cancellation booking we just found when searching for that final escape in the last fortnight of the year. Boy did we get lucky!

The rooms are certainly not small and seem to vary in type. We had one at the back on the ground floor, (number 11, there is a pic of it in the ones people have submitted), which allowed us to get from our one step up balcony straight round to the poolbar area and back very discretely and which had no "through traffic" from other guests. They were all cleaned every morning with towels and sheets regularly replaced too. The apartment's shower/toilet was modern and well looked after with any amount of hot water available any time of day. The gardens are lush and effectively screen the whole property and give it an air of self containedness. There are lemon and orange trees everywhere which does make the rear ground floor rooms a little darker but means coolness and quiet and a lovely balcony experience for relaxing with a book and wine. There are also bananas, Sharon fruit, courgettes, and herbs growing around. The lemon trees outside our rooms could also be one happy reason we were not plagued by mosquitoes, (I am a genuine magnet for the little horrors and I suffer badly when bitten). The upper rooms would all have more light with views over the hillside to the rear or towards the sea and town on one end but wouldn't necessarily have that same feeling of being tucked away. You pays your money and you takes your choice.

The pool area is lovely with a beautifully maintained pool, a fairly large comprehensive bar and a covered area for eating.  Sunbeds on the other three sides are all covered with comfy foam mattresses and there is even a four poster bed type with light curtains at the head of the pool. First come first served! Again the garden around it is mature with lots of fruit trees.

The hosts Costas and Meni are the best! Nothing was a problem, nothing was too much to ask and they were always on hand with explanations and advice. In fact a couple of potential problems caused by a one day storm which passed over the island narrowly missing us were sorted out before we were even aware of them. They put on a barbeque for all of the guests one evening and their food was superb and plenty of it. Breakfasts are always available if needed and evening meals can be prepared by request.

It's location is perhaps the only feature which could be an issue for some and would need careful consideration for less mobile travellers without transport.  It sits between the harbour town of Pythagorion and Chora on something of a main road, (see Google maps).  There is a good supermarket, (matching our description not their usual corner shop type), which sells everything you could want for food and drink literally only 100m walk away. It had Ouzo at €8.30 a bottle and absolutely gorgeous semi-sweet local wine at €3.45 for 1.5l, (yes, that's two full bottles worth for about £3.00). I'll miss the time on the balcony enjoying that.

Pythagorion, (20mins or so direct walk), has a large harbour with the usual berths for yachts so is a bit of a rich man's playground along the seafront as you would expect. However the drinks there with "ambience" are reasonable and there is fabulous food available in more reasonably priced tavernas a couple of streets back with always something to see. Rabbit Stifado was a first for me and was very tasty.

Chora, 10mins walk inland from the Anthis, is a sleepy village on the road to Samos Town, the island capital.  It has a couple of decent tavernas of a more "of the people" type and one absolute gem, a taverna a little up the hillside off the main road in amongst the Greek houses called Antonis.  It is old fashioned and plain inside but the location amongst the tightly packed Greek houses is lovely and the food, while it is not very comprehensive, is absolutely to die for! Not for you if you are looking for all of the usual list of Greek dishes but a must if you don't mind going with just a few choices each evening.

One other place nearby worth a visit or two if you have transport is Ireon which sits at the end of the road past the nearby airport. It's sleepier than Pythagorion with a good few tavernas with more fish on their menus. Only a little beyond that along a short concreted track, (suitable to walk, cycle and drive), is Pappa Beach which should really not be missed for a day in the sun. It's a miniature Greek Portmeirion in a tiny cove!

So, while it is easy to walk to eating and drinking spots it may be difficult for those with mobility issues. If you are happy to stay based in the apartment block to eat, as many others were, then it will offer everything you could want. And as a base for exploration it is second to none with much more local interest than I have described.

Again Kostas and meni have done us proud love this place and the friendly people, we are so relaxed here nothing is too much trouble remember JUST ASK, always clean and helpful, food is fantastic, service is always with a smile, it's like our 2nd home, we have been coming here for over 15years it's a little gem in the best place, well done to Adonis as well for his army duties we and the family are so proud of him see you all next year xxxxx

Best place for a holiday ever

The accommodation is owned by a lovey couple who are very friendly and helpful.
Room was basic but had everything we needed, bed was comfy. The studio had shutters so it was not light in there. Large balcony with furniture was a nice place to sit at any time.
Great pool, with large sun loungers reasonable prices at the pool bar.
Location about a 30 minute walk down to the main harbour front lots of places to eat. Taxi cost about 10 euros.
The owner kindly drove is to the port on the morning we left which was really appreciated.


Fabulous pool, friendly owners

Lovely warm welcome by a very hospitable family. I stayed in a studio with a basic kitchenette and fridge to prepare my breakfast and other basic meals if desired.
Everything was tidy and proper. Spacious good working bathroom. Very enjoyable balcony to have my breakfast each morning. Pool area very nice with comfortable huge sunbeds with nice cushions. The family is always available to be of service. Their kindness makes you feel like a real guest. Two doors down a good supermarket. Got everything I needed in there. Even as a vegan it was great to get my vegan feta and cheese slices and Alpro plant milks there.  1.5 km walk is Potokaki beach. Daily I walked to Potokaki beach. Lovely. There is a nice restaurant called Almera . Had a few lunches and dinners there as they had vegan options too.  In the mornings I walked into Pythagoreion and enjoyed smoothies and snacks at Tropicanna the Health Bar right in the main street. I experienced all people on Samos as very very friendly and helpful.  Its a delight to have dinner in the evenings at the Pythagoreio Bay overlooking the sea.
I also walked to Chora one morning. Great walk to the old ancient capital of the middle ages. The arch bridge and little churches are interesting to have a look at.
An excellent holiday and lovely place to stay at.
