Had a great week here the owners were really lovely. Shuttle bus really handy. Room was great. We had no complaints. Food at pool bar was lovely too

After being a bit nervous for booking the Alea resort with very few recent reviews, we absolutely loved our holiday from start to finish! Parga is stunning - we love Lindos in Rhodes so we’re looking for a similar beautiful resort and we certainly found it in Parga. 

We knew before we went that it was a little further from the centre but we are quite an active family with 2 very young children (1 and 4) and as long as you are fine with walking up hills (and know to expect this), it was fine- we didn’t even use the shuttle once! When you come out the resort and take the right turn off the main road, it was about a 5-10 minute walk (roadside) to the Med restaurant and then from there there was paths (and less vehicles) with stunning views of the castle and beach and we walked down the steps by the castle to the harbour for dinner every night. 

In terms of a 3 star self catering resort in Greece, I thought it was much nicer than most I’ve stayed in before. We had all the equipment needed (for breakfast and lunch), washing up liquid, a tea towel and even a washing line on the balcony. The balconies were huge with the most beautiful views. 

We loved the pool and felt like it was very clean- perhaps the poolside could have done with a mop every night but other than that we couldn’t fault the resort. They were helpful and assisted us when we needed a highchair/cot for the room.

We’d definitely return to Parga and wouldn’t hesitate to book the Alea resort again! Thanks for such an amazing time.

Fabulous hotel resort. We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 night stay at the Alea. The owners are perfect hosts and  Dimitri a perfect waiter and bar tender! The rooms are clean and comfortable with the most magnificent views. The surrounding countryside is lovely. It is a walk downhill into Parga and another walk to the beach but it was fine for us with our mobility. There is also a courtesy bus for your return journey! We enjoyed the lunch time snacks so didn’t have to go down to Parga. The pool area is fantastic one of the best we have experienced. There are very nice restaurants within a short walk of the hotel. A great place to stay.

Just returned from the best holiday accommodation I have experienced in Greece. Great rooms,views from our balcony. Pool area superb and bar and snacks. Leo and Katrina the owners so friendly and obliging. A special mention to Dimitris the bar attendant and Hannah the cook for breakfast and bar meals. Food really good. Would certainly go back.

What to say about this place. Beautiful, friendly staff and Thomas was a Legend! 
The food at the restaurant was decent (except the chicken salad sorry) but Dimitrious is fantastic and the young girl was great. Ilios is a really nice guy and his young lad is a legend 🤣!
Location I liked personally as it was far enough away from the hustle and bustle and the hill you get used to. The shuttle bus to the harbour and to the beach is an added bonus. Seem some comments about more shuttle bus times, but I’d say plan your day better! If I was being super cheeky I’d ask for a bus back just after the beach run around 1430 as it’s hot on the walk back. But either way it’s a great service and Thomas is fantastic. 
We had the best room with view to the pool and across the sea. Do the rooms need an update? Maybe yes but it’s fine as it is and the cleaners are great. May have been tricky in the kitchen so maybe they could do with an upgrade for cooking and eating in. Definitely not enough power sockets. We had 3 in the whole apartment and one of those was for the kettle 😄. Did it stop us loving the hotel? Absolutely Not!
The pool area is great and a nice mix of people and despite the number of rooms we were never short of a bed by the pool when we needed one. 
This is absolutely amazing place and I’d highly recommend staying here for all the above and especially as the family friendly staff are great. We will certainly be looking to go back there again soon and I don’t tend to re visit holiday destinations but this one I will for sure. The TUI Rep from England was great and helpful and the whole of Parga is an amazing place to visit.

One of the best hotels in Parga. The staff are so friendly and helpfull. We felt so welcome every day. . Shuttlebus to the beach and the city. The apartment was very big and the view was awesome. We will be back.

We have just returned from staying at Alea resort. I would highly recommend this place. Myself and my 17 year old daughter stayed in room 112 a one bedroom apartment that had the most amazing view I have ever seen of mountains and Valtos cove in the distance. The balcony was huge so it was like an extra room. We spent evenings sitting on the balcony looking at the twinkly lights with Paxos in the distance. Food in the bar was great and huge portions. Sun beds always available round the pool. It was quiet with just the right amount of people. Staff friendly. I asked for extra hangers and the sofa bed to be made up and it was done instantly. The air con worked in the living area but not in the bedroom so I asked for a fan and was given one so that was great and also meant I didn't have to buy two air con units use. The shuttle bus into town and Valtos beach with Thomas was fantastic and such a bonus. Personally we could not walk it in the 35 degree heat and definitely not back up hill. It might be fine in cooler weather. Food was also reasonably priced. Myself and my 17year old loved this place and had a wonderful time. If I was going to give a couple of very minor detail suggestions it would be to fix the air con unit in the bedroom in case people needed it and that the pool could be cleaned a little more,there was a machine doing something one night but there wasn't much difference but that's all and only mentioning to make this place even more perfect. We are checking out of the Alea resort tommoz after a lovely week here! The staff have been amazing so friendly and helpful! The rooms are spotlessly clean and the maids come in every day! We were put in a ground floor room initially and asked for a top floor which they accommodated the very next day! The food
In the bar is gorgeous! It’s a little bit out of the way up the hill from Parga but the free shuttle bus is a godsend and we also hired a car for a few days so not a problem! Only €5 back up from Center in a taxi! Lovely place lovely staff thanks for a brilliant week xx

The hotel itself is situated on the north western outskirts of Parga about a 20 minute scenic downhill walk in. There are also regular shuttle bus runs either to Valtos Beach or Town which is free and invaluable if you do not fancy walking back up the hill (otherwise, it is a 5 euro taxi ride). Our room was very spacious with a large balcony and sofa bed enough for our family of 4. The room was cleaned everyday with towel changes every 2 days. There is a lovely pool and plenty of sun loungers to go round either in the shade or in the sun. The Alea Nostos Bar and Restaurant serves food and drink throughout the day and night with great service. We personally do not like 'big' hotels so this hotel hit the spot because it is quite small and never feels busy even with a full occupancy.

We have just returned from a two holiday at The Alea in beautiful Parga. The resort is amazing and it ticks all the boxes for us. Basic rooms but there everything you need for a self catering holiday. The rooms are spacious and bright with views stretching out to the sea across a valley of olive and lemon groves. It is so quiet there, especially in the evenings sitting with a gin and tonic on the huge balcony. The staff are amazing and go above and beyond. Panos looks after the bar he is a wonderful person. The girls Georgina and Gloria are so lovely and nothing is too much trouble. Thomas looks after everyone, driving the shuttle bus, maintaining the hotel and shipping around luggage. Lena on reception is adorable. We had a fantastic time here and have booked again for 2023. Many thanks to all the staff.

Amazing time in Parga

For self catering, we found the apartments adequate, lovely and clean. The bed was super comfy however, we had a fridge, a hob, a few items of crockery and one saucepan. My children had to take it in turns using the cereal bowl! Air con is an added extra. Local tax and aircon was paid at reception on arrival for the total of 70€ for the week. 

They do a breakfast which is 12€ per adult and 6€ per child, we had this the last morning before we were collected for our flight home. We ate in the town a lot for breakfast and dinner - more walking!! 

The swimming pool was lovely and there were always sunbeds. The pool bar stop serving food at 2.30pm. 

Others have mentioned the shuttle bus - the times were 9.15am, 1pm, 7pm, 8pm and 10.30pm however, the first two days we were there the bus wasn't in use so we had a long walk into town. August heat and walking along a long un-pavemented road is not for the fainthearted and we are an active family with teenagers. Yes, you can get a taxi back however, they are few and far between especially in the evenings. It was 6€ up to Alea. You can see the road down to the entrance of the old town on Google maps. This shows part of the walk down. August (as expected) was also super busy in the town/restaurants the later you ventured out. The beaches were also packed (a lot of the beach was taken up by the rent a lounger/umbrella).

To sum it up, Parga is beautiful and the Alea resort was lovely. I just wish it had been more central due to the sheer heat of August. We walked and chafed and walked and chafed!!

Alea Resort Parga - August 2022

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at Alea resort and we've had a fantastic time.

The rooms are very spacious and clean. There is plenty of choice at breakfast time- the staff work very hard to ensure that the food is kept topped up. The pool is a decent size and we never struggled to get a sunbed at any point during the day. The pool bar is great with a good atmosphere. The staff are very pleasant and attentive. We ate at the snack bar on several occasions as the food was really good and reasonably priced.

The hotel itself is a walk from the main town, and due to the heat, traffic and terrain it can be a difficult walk. There is a free frequent shuttle bus that can take you from the hotel and into the main town or Valtos beach and takes you back to the hotel. 

We were very happy with the hotel overall, however there was one thing that we were slightly disappointed with. We were told on arrival that there is a charge for the air conditioning which would be €8 per night which we think is a little bit expensive and was unexpected.

We would recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay here again if we return to Parga.
