There was no reception just one key on the door for us was left, we needed more as a family. When I called them to ask for the key and other things, they did not answer and called back later. I have suspects about the cleanliness of the room, as there was a big dead butterfly by window and many spider webs.. Only good thing is its being central. I definitely do no advice this place to people who expect clean place... The bed top covers were also dirty , I didn't want to touch them.

Unfortunately, the rooms are only spartan and very unfriendly. For people with back problems, the simple wooden beds with the thin mattresses are nothing, there is also a lack of comfortable seating furniture. The kitchen is located directly in the room and the refrigerator is extremely loud at night. With the few kitchen utensils, virtually nothing can be cooked, there is no basic equipment such as salt, pepper, oil, coffee filter etc. Bath and toilet could have been cleaner. On the ground floor, the bathroom was not to be thought of because of the thickness of the building, but the walls are very thin. All the conversations took place during the morning, and the refrigerator was extremely loud at night.

Simple equipment and only moderate service

We were pleasantly surprised by this accomm. It is a bit off the main area and down a side street so I was a bit unsure as we were walking up towards it. But the room was freshly renovated and quite stylish in its decor and plenty of room. If you can, don’t stay on top floor. We got the top floor with the sloping ceiling and I hit my head a number of times which wasn’t great. It is quite low. The bathroom is fresh and clean, but not a very good shower head. 
The location was in walking distance to train - 15 mins. And 10 mins to the Main Street so not too bad. The Vietnamese restaurant is worth the walk.
We didn’t have any issues with checking in or out. And we arrived late at night.
There is no lift - so the climb up the stairwells was quite the workout, but all in all was great value for the money. There is so much to explore in Potsdam that you won’t want to be in the room for long anyway

For the money, we would have expected a clean, cozy apartment - dirty chairs, tiny rooms, modern towels, broken bedding, poor kitchen equipment.

Not to recommend!

As a frequent reviewer of properties all over the world I, sadly, have also been scammed. This property is not what I expected and in my considered view, nothing but a front.
The property does not have any check-in facilities and you arrive at an unattended property with no indication of how to be checked into your room. After waiting for a long time and eventually checking myself into what I assumed was the room prepared for me, I had one of the most frightening experiences of my 30 years of international travel.
At approximately 20h00 on my first night, I was accosted by an “Enforcer” who came to the door and extorted cash from me for my stay. I won’t detail the whole story but suffice to say that the Enforcer staged a room invasion and extorted the cash from me. With a real threat of bodily harm, I did what I thought was reasonable, and paid the Enforcer the extortion monies. And more than what the agreed room price was. The property afterwards also debited my credit card and logged me as a no-show.
Traveller beware! I was scammed here, so hopefully you will have a better experience. Extorting monies and debiting my credit card is naturally fraudulent, so this is being taken up with the correct channels.
