Gerberhof Hotel Garni

We stayed at the Garni Gerberhof over a year ago and the only fault that we could find at that time was that the rooms were looking old. Having now returned for another visit we were more than pleasently suprised to find that all the rooms in the annex, which is where we satyed on the last visit, have been fully refurbished to a very high standard and the hotel is well deserved of the 3*** superior award. The room (apartment almost) that we were in was large with a divided sleeping and living area plus an additional bedroom, all the furniture was new and to a high standard, views of the mountains from the balcony were exceptional, when the weather permitted. The shower/wc was also all newly refurbished and again to a high standard. The room was supplied with a refridgerator and crockery should you wish to eat in, rather than find one of the numerous restaurants in Oberstdorf. The hotel holds a number of discount cards that entitle you to 50% of the local cable cars etc and internet is cheap at €4 for a week. We dined out every night in a different restaurant in Oberstdorf and have no complaints about any of the them. In fact we enjoyed it so much that we booked again for a stay in February for my wifes birthday. The hotel is a little jem in what is one of the best locations in the Algau and is well worth a visit at any time of year.
