30 reviewsOften foreigners seek the " authentic" experience when travelling. At this hotel, the owners put hospitality and orienting guests within the hotel as first priority. The decor and rooms reflect an earlier time, but, the things that really add to one's comfort have been updated. Each room has a lovely view on mature gardens from a balcony. Breakfast is simple, but satisfying. The spa in the basement is on par with many 5 star hotels I have visited. Wi-Fi just refused to work, and the fireplace room was not working, but this is no reason to reject the benefits above. In the sleepy little hamlet of Bad Steben is one of the oldest and, based on my experience, best hot spring spa experiences that reflect the true 19the century health retreat cultures. The 5-minute walk from this family run hotel is ideal to get there. A restaurant is nearby. Go for it!
