I stayed at Elite House for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's located very close to the center of town, but it's away from the main street with most vehicle traffic so it's pretty quiet. My room and bed were comfortable and I enjoyed the balcony overlooking some smaller mountains on the edge of town. My only complaint about the room is that there was a bit of a smell from the bathroom drains, but this isn't something that can be fixed without completely redoing the building's plumbing. The best part about Elite House is Marina, the person you'll see most often. She absolutely wants to make sure your stay in Svaneti is great. She cooks a huge breakfast (15 GEL, totally worth it) and showed me where I could do my laundry (15 GEL as well—AND they have a dryer). She was also able to call a guy she knew to drive me in his 4x4 for a day trip to Ushguli. Marina doesn't speak English, but I had no trouble communicating with her using Google Translate and gestures. There are probably a hundred guesthouses and hotels in Mestia, but I am really glad I chose to stay at Elite House.
